OnePlus is said to be working on its upcoming smartphone which could be OnePlus 7 or OnePlus 5G. Now, a leaked image shows how OnePlus’ next smartphone is going to look like. The image leaked online is most probably a shot from company’s board meeting as CEO Pete Lau can be seen attending it.
OnePlus is one of the first companies who has confirmed a 5G phone in 2019. The current leak suggests that the company is probably already working on it. Going by the image posted by a tipster Ishan Agarwal on Twitter, the upcoming OnePlus phone will look quite different. However, it is still not clear whether the leaked photo is of OnePlus 5G or it is the OnePlus 5G.
The leaked photo shows OnePlus CEO Pete Lau presenting a prototype of the phone on the slide. The image shows a device with large, circular camera bump on the back. There are two devices in the picture- a red and a white color one. Also, it could be just a prototype and not the final device. If we look closer in the leaked picture, it also shows a triple camera set up on the back and no fingerprint sensor. So, just like the OnePlus 6T, the upcoming OnePlus phone could also have an in display fingerprint sensor.
If we talk about things we already know about the upcoming OnePlus phone is that it would be powered by Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 855 chipset. The 5G model will be clubbed with the X50 modem while the OnePlus 7 could come with the X24 modem.
Coming to the launch time of the new OnePlus phone, OnePlus 7 is expected to be launched by May 2019. So, it is more likely that the leaked phone could actually be the OnePlus 5G. It is to be noted here that OnePlus has confirmed that its 5G phone will not be the OnePlus 6T successor and it will be a completely different device. Also, it will come with a hefty price tag.
