Xiaomi Mi Play with waterdrop notch display launched: Price, specifications

Xiaomi Mi Play is the latest smartphone in the new Play series by Xiaomi. The Mi Play was launched today in China. The key features of the new phone are its FHD+ waterdrop notch display, an unannounced MediaTek Helio P35 12nm processor with GPU Turbo and paired with 4GB of RAM. It also sports a dual rear camera setup with AI features.

Xiaomi Mi Play specifications

Coming to the full specs, the Xiaomi Mi Play sports a 5.84-inch FHD+ (2280×1080 pixels) 2.5D curved glass display with a 19:9 aspect ratio. Under the hood, it will get an upcoming MediaTek Helio P35 12nm processor clocked at 2.3GHz. It will pack 4GB LPDDR4x RAM and  64GB storage that is expandable up to 256GB with microSD.

In the camera department, there is a dual rear camera set up. It has a 12MP primary camera with f/2.2 aperture, 1.25μm pixel size, and a 2MP secondary camera. The primary camera also has LED Flash, PDAF, and EIS support. There is an 8MP selfie camera.


The smartphone runs Android 8.1 Oreo with MIUI 10 on top. Connectivity options are Dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS/GLONASS, and USB Type-C. The handset is powered by a 3000mAh battery. There is a back-mounted fingerprint sensor. Dimensions of the phone are 147.76×71.89×7.8mm and its weight is 150g.

Price, availability

The Xiaomi Mi Play is priced at 1099 yuan (Rs. 11,100 approx.) for the only 4GB/64GB version. It comes in Black, Dream Blue, and Twilight Gold colors. It is currently available for pre-order in China.
