Vivo iQOO smartphone teased and it doesn’t look like a foldable phone

Last week Vivo announced its new sub-brand dubbed as iQOO. Soon after we start getting leaks around the first phone from the brand and an alleged image of that smartphone made rounds of the internet last week. It suggested that it could be a foldable phone.

However, today Vivo teased the first iQOO smartphone and it seems to debunk the earlier rumor. The iQOO smartphone was showcased during the 2019 NBA All-Star Weekend show. The phone comes with triple rear cameras arranged vertically and a glossy back panel.

The company has also confirmed that the smartphone will be powered by the flagship Snapdragon 855 chipset. It is also confirmed that the smartphone will feature a sixth-generation in-display fingerprint scanner, which is the successor to the one used in the Vivo NEX dual screen.

The smartphone could pack this new in-display fingerprint sensor which might cover most of the bottom part of the screen. So, this could cover a larger area compared to current in-display sensors. It also comes with support for two-finger unlocking.

If we look at the specifications, the first iQOO smartphone seems to be a flagship under the new Vivo brand. We should know more details about iQOO smartphone in coming weeks.
