Samsung Galaxy S10 and Galaxy S10+ are now official: Price, specifications

Samsung has finally launched its Galaxy S10 series at an event in San Francisco yesterday night. The Galaxy S10 and Galaxy S10+ both come with Infinity-O displays and in-display Ultrasonic Fingerprint Scanner. Both the phones have triple rear cameras and S10+ also comes with dual front cameras. They are powered by Snapdragon 855 or Exynos 9820 processors and run Android 9.0 Pie with OneUI. The Galaxy S10 price starts at $899.99 (Rs. 64,030 approx.).

Galaxy S10, Galaxy S10+ Features

Samsung announced the new Galaxy S10 series with several new features. The S10 and S10+ both have IP68 water and dust resistance. Alongside support for fast wireless charging 2.0, they also come with a new PowerShare feature to charge any Qi-compatible devices on the back of the phone.

The phones will be available in Prism White, Prism Black, Prism Green, Prism Blue, Canary Yellow, and Flamingo Pink color options. While the Galaxy S10+ 8GB/512GB and 12GB/1TB models also come in Ceramic build in Black and White colors.

The Galaxy S10 sports a 6.1-inch and Galaxy S10+ sports a 6.1-inch Quad HD+ (3040 × 1440 pixels) Curved Dynamic AMOLED display with HDR10+ support. It is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 6. Both the phones have an in-display ultrasonic fingerprint scanner that reads 3D contours of thumbprint for improved security.

Under the hood, both are powered by the Snapdragon 855 7nm processor with Adreno 640 GPU or by the Exynos 9 Series 9820 8nm processor with Mali-G76 MP12 GPU. The Galaxy S10 packs 8GB LPDDR4x RAM with 128GB/512GB storage that is expandable up to 512GB with microSD. While S10+ packs up to 12GB RAM and 1TB storage. Both the smartphones sun Android 9.0 Pie with OneUI on top.

In the camera department, the triple rear camera setup has a 12MP Dual Pixel primary camera with LED Flash, f/1.5-f/2.4 variable aperture, a 12MP Telephoto lens with f/2.4 aperture, and a 16MP Ultra Wide sensor with f/2.2 aperture and up to 10X digital zoom. The Galaxy S10 comes with a 10MP Dual Pixel front camera with 80° wide-angle lens and f/1.9 aperture. While S10+ also comes with a secondary 8MP depth sensor with f/2.2 aperture at the front.

Connectivity options include Dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ax (2.4/5GHz), 4×4 MIMO, Bluetooth 5, GPS with GLONASS, USB 3.1, NFC, and MST. The S10 packs a 3,400mAh battery and S10 has a 4,100mAh battery. Both phones support fast charging on wired and wireless charging.

Price, availability

The Samsung Galaxy S10 price starts at $899.99 (Rs. 64,030 approx.) for the 8GB/128GB model. The 512GB variant of S10 costs $1149.99 (Rs. 81,815 approx.). The Galaxy S10+ 8GB/128GB is priced at $999.99 (Rs. 71,145 approx.). The 8GB/ 512GB Ceramic variant of S10+ costs $1249.99 (Rs. 88,930 approx.) and 12GB + 1TB version is priced at $1599.99 (Rs. 1,13,830 approx.)

The pre-orders of Galaxy S10, S10+ will begin from February 21 and they will go on sale from March 8 in select markets. Customers who pre-order the phone will also get free Galaxy Buds worth $129.99 for free for a limited perios. The Galaxy S10 pre-orders in India will begin from February on Flipkart and Indian pricing will be revelaed by then.
