Sony Mobile also announced it’s latest flagship smartphone Xperia 1 at the MWC 2019 alongside the Xperia 10 and 10 Plus. It is the world’s first smartphone with 21:9 aspect ratio 4K HDR display that the company calls
CinemaWide display. It has Gorilla Glass 6 protection on both sides. The device is powered by Snapdragon 855 with 6GB RAM and sports triple rear cameras. Let’s check out the full features and specs of Xperia 1.

Sony Xperia 1 Features

Sony has made this phone for those who love to watch movies and TV shows on their smartphones. The CinemaWide display on Xperia 1 offers bright colors with BRAVIA X1 for mobile. It also has a Creator mode to ensure consistent color reproduction for movies and TV shows. The camera on the phone also comes with a Cinema Pro mode that offers 21:9 Movie recording in 4K HDR.

It sports stereo speaker and also has support for Dolby Atmos, DSEE HX, and high res audio with LDAC. It features a side-mounted fingerprint sensor. Dimensions of the new Xperia are 167 x 72 x 8.2mm. It is also water resistant with IP68 rating.

The Sony Xperia 1 sports a 6.5-inch 4K (1644x3840pixels) OLED HDR display with 21:9 aspect ratio and Gorilla Glass 6 protection. Under the hood, it is powered by Snapdragon 855 SoC with 6GB RAM. It packs 128GB internal memory that is expandable up to 512GB via microSD card. The smartphone runs on Android 9.0 Pie.

Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11 ac (2.4GHz / 5GHz) MIMO, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS/ GLONASS, NFC, and USB 3.1 Type-C. It packs a 3300mAh Battery with Qnovo Adaptive Charging, Quick Charge 3.0, and wireless charging support.

Price, availability

The Sony Xperia 1 is priced at £799 (Rs. 74,270 approx.). It comes in Black, Purple, Grey, and White colors and will be go on sale from late spring in the US and in the coming weeks in Europe. There is no word on India availability and pricing as of now.
