After several months of speculations, OnePlus finally announced the OnePlus 7 launch date. The upcoming OnePlus flagships will be launched on May 14th globally and in India as well.

The company has also released the first official teaser of its upcoming flagship OnePlus 7. The company CEO posted a 4-second long teaser on Twitter that did not reveal much about the device but conveyed a lot of hidden meanings.

The teaser stated that the new device will be extremely fast and smooth. While OnePlus did not reveal anything specific about its upcoming smartphones, there’s already a lot of information available on the internet in the form of leaks.

First of all, the company is said to launch three OnePlus 7 models this time: the regular OnePlus 7, OnePlus 7 Pro and a 5G variant.

OnePlus 7, OnePlus 7 Pro Specifications, Features

Here, we are talking about the premium OnePlus 7 Pro on which we expect the official teaser is about. Also, here are details of OnePlus 7 as well.

OnePlus 7 Pro Design and Display

The teaser shows a device with a curved edge. Previous leaks have also suggested that OnePlus 7 Pro will come with the curved display just like the Samsung and Huawei flagships.

The teaser also shows that the top edge seems to be curving towards the edges which hints at a fullscreen display without any notch whatsoever. Interestingly, OnePlus 7 has been repeatedly leaked with a pop-up selfie camera so the company might include a full-screen display.

Moreover, a British online retailer MobileFun has listed OnePlus 7 Pro cases that also reveal no notch and a motorized selfie camera as well as triple cameras at the back. One of the cases also reveals a couple of gradient color options for the phone.

Coming to the display, OnePlus 7 Pro is said to come with a Quad HD+ Super AMOLED panel with a “90hz” refresh rate. In the teaser, the company stressed too much on a smooth experience which hints towards the 90Hz display.

We have seen a smoother experience on smartphones with higher refresh rates on their displays. For example, the Asus ROG Phone came with a 90Hz display and it was quite smooth. So, we expect a 90Hz display on the OnePlus 7 Pro too.

OnePlus 7 Design and Display

As per the leaks, OnePlus 7 will come with a similar design to the previous model i.e. OnePlus 6T. It is expected that OnePlus 7 will only see improvements in terms of camera and hardware.

So, OnePlus 7 standard edition might come with the regular glass back design with two cameras at the back. It will have a waterdrop notch display at the front. There might not also be changes in terms of placements of buttons as well.

OnePlus 7 Pro Cameras

The word “Smoooth” in the teaser emphasizes on three “O’s”. These triple O’s suggests that the OnePlus 7 might include a triple camera setup. It is expected that the company will include the current best 48-megapixel Sony IMX 586 sensor.

Further, the triple rear camera setup with a 48MP primary sensor will be paired with a wide angle sensor and a telephoto lens. However, the specs of these two sensors are still a mystery. The front camera could be a 16MP sensor.

OnePlus 7 Cameras

OnePlus 7, on the other hand, is expected to get the dual cameras at the back. As per the leaks, it could also have the 48MP sensor and it will have a 5MP depth sensor along with it.

One Plus 7, 7 Pro Processor

OnePlus smartphones always get the best available processors every year. So, this year too, the OnePlus flagships will come with the best Android chipset available in the market which is Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 855. Currently, there is no phone in India with this chipset.

OnePlus 7, 7 Pro Software

The OnePlus 7 and 7 Pro will come with the latest Android 9 Pie out of the box with Oxygen OS on top. The teaser also suggests new navigation gestures that might come on the OnePlus 7 series. The Oxygen OS could include new swipe gestures to make the navigation smoother.

OnePlus 7 and 7 Pro Battery

The OnePlus 7 series might also come with a larger battery which could be 4,000mAh unit. Moreover, the upcoming OnePlus phones might also support the new WARP Charge technology which was introduced with the OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition.

Common Features

If we talk about other common features, both the OnePlus 7 and 7 Pro may sport dual speakers and the speakers will be placed below to offer an enhanced audio experience. They will also come with the USB 3.1 port. Last but not least, both models will also have an in-display fingerprint sensor.

OnePlus 7 Pro Expected Price

The OnePlus 7 Pro is said to come with all the high-end specs like a QHD+ screen resolution display with 90 Hz support, a bezel-less screen with a pop-up camera, Snapdragon 855 and three rear cameras, etc.

So, we’re expecting this one to be more expensive than previous OnePlus flagships. We expect that OnePlus 7 Pro could be launched between Rs. 50,000 and Rs. 55,000 in India.

OnePlus 7 Expected Price

Because of the improved camera features and the latest flagship hardware, OnePlus 7 is also expected to be costly. This time we expect the OnePlus flagships will start from above Rs. 40,000. The expected price for OnePlus 7 is Rs. 42,999.

Launch Date in India

According to the official announcement, the OnePlus 7 Pro along with regular OnePlus 7 and 5G model will make its global debut on May 14. However, OnePlus hasn’t announced anything on the launch date as well as specifications.

Having said that, you should take the above-mentioned information with a pinch of salt.
