WWDC 2019 Highlights: New Mac Pro, iOS 13, iPadOS and More Announced

Apple’s WWDC keynote event is one of the most popular developer conferences in the tech industry. This year’s keynote started yesterday. If we talk about WWDC 2019 highlights, it brings loads of new changes and interesting features to Apple’s major software platforms including latest iOS 13, watchOS 6, tvOS 13 and a new iPadOS. The company also announced a brand new modular Mac Pro.

WWDC 2019 Highlights

New Mac Pro

Apple launched its redesigned Mac Pro at the WWDC 2019. It comes with an Intel Xeon processor with up to 28 cores, a high-performance memory system with 1.5TB capacity, and up to 4TB of SSD storage encrypted by the Apple T2 Security Chip and the world’s most powerful graphics architecture. It has eight PCIe expansion slots. It comes with the Apple Pro Display XDR that is a 32-inch Retina 6K screen.

The New Mac Pro price starts at $5,999 (roughly Rs. 4,15,490) while the Pro Display XDR starts at $4,999 (roughly Rs. 3,46,220) and the Pro Stand costs $999 (Rs. 69,3000 approx.). All these will be available to order in September.

iOS 13

Apple introduced the next iteration of iOS at the keynote. The iOS 13 comes with a lot of new features and improves the performance of the iPhone making it faster and responsive. It brings optimizations across the system to improve app launch, reduce app download size and make Face ID faster.


It also brings features like Dark Mode, Advanced Camera Features, Sign In with Apple, an All-New Maps Experience and more.

iPadOS

Along with iOS 13, Apple also announced new iPadOS as well. It is designed for the iPads and brings features like redesigned Home screen, multiple apps in Slide Over, more ways to use Apple Pencil, etc. It also has features from iOS 13 such as Dark Mode, Sign In with Apple and more.

The iPadOS will be available this fall for iPad 5th generation and later, iPad Air 2 and later, iPad Pro models, and iPad mini 4 and later.

New watchOS, tvOS

Apple also announced its latest version of watchOS. The watchOS 6 brings new features to the Apple Watch including native App Store support. It also brings improvements in health and fitness and adds new dynamic watch faces and more.

Apple also introduced its latest tvOS 13 with some interesting features like a new home screen, screensaver, Apple music lyrics, Xbox One support and more. Alongside these, the next-generation macOS Catalina was also announced with features like new Music app, Sidecar and Screen Time, etc.
