Xiaomi announced Mi CC9 and CC9e smartphones in China yesterday. Both the Mi CC9 series phones come with features like Samsung AMOLED display with seventh gen in-display fingerprint scanner, 48-megapixel Sony IMX586 as the main sensor, and a 32-megapixel front camera sensor.
The Mi CC9 is powered by Snapdragon 710 SoC while the Mi CC9e is the first smartphone to be powered by Snapdragon 655 SoC. Xiaomi‘s new Mi CC9 series phones come in a 3D glass back body and also have a multi-color LED light on the back cover.

Mi CC9 Specifications
The Mi CC9 sports a 6.39-inch Full HD+(1080 × 2280 pixels) AMOLED display with Gorilla Glass 5 protection. It comes with the latest in-display fingerprint scanner as well. Dimensions of the phone are 156.8×74.5×8.67mm and its weight is just 179g.
Under the hood, it has Snapdragon 710 10nm processor with Adreno 616 GPU. The CC9 packs 6GB or 8GB RAM and up to 256GB storage that is also expandable up to 256GB. The smartphone is running Android 9 Pie with MIUI 10.
Connectivity features include 3.5mm audio jack, Hybrid Dual SIM, Dual 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11ac dual-band, Bluetooth 5, GPS/GLONASS/Beidou, NFC, and USB Type-C.
The triple rear camera set up has a 48MP Sony IMX586 sensor with 0.8μm pixel size, f/1.79 aperture, an 8MP 118° ultra-wide angle lens with f/2.2 aperture, and a 2MP depth sensor. There is a 32MP selfie camera with f/2.0 aperture.
The handset gets power from a 4030mAh battery with QC 4.0 charging support and also comes with an 18W fast charger. It comes with an infrared sensor and Hi-res audio.
Xiaomi also introduced a Mi CC9 Meitu Edition with the image editing software company. This phone has similar the specs as the CC9 but comes with some Meitu specific features. It has a gradient color like the beaches and comes with highly-customized UI.
The Meitu edition also comes with Meitu camera features like unique AI low-light portrait feature for high-quality pictures in zero ambient light using Meitu’s single frame depth acquisition tech as well as a superior AI Beautify feature.
Mi CC9e Specifications
The Mi CC9e sports a 6.08-inch HD+(1560 x 720 pixels) AMOLED display with Gorilla Glass 5 protection. The phone also sports an in-display fingerprint scanner. Dimensions of this phone are 156.8×74.5×8.67mm and it weighs just 179g.
It is powered by Octa Core Snapdragon 655 11nm processor with Adreno 610 GPU. The device comes with up to 6GB LPDDR4x RAM and up to 128GB UFS 2.1 storage. The storage is expandable up to 256GB with microSD.
Connectivity features include Hybrid Dual SIM slot, Dual 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11ac dual-band, Bluetooth 5, GPS/GLONASS/Beidou, USB Type-C, and 3.5mm audio jack. It also comes with an infrared sensor and packs a 4030mAh battery with QC 3.0 support.
The smartphone runs on Android 9 Pie with MIUI 10 on top.
In terms of camera, it also has a 48MP rear camera with Sony IMX586 sensor, 0.8μm pixel size, f/1.79 aperture, an 8MP 118° ultra-wide angle lens, and a 2MP depth sensor. There is a similar 32MP front-facing camera with f/2.0 aperture.
The Xiaomi Mi CC9 price starts at 1799 yuan (Rs. 18,045 approx.) for the 6GB/64GB version and goes up to 2599 yuan (Rs. 26,070 approx.) for the Meitu Edition with 8GB RAM and 256GB storage. This will be available in China starting from July 5.
The Mi CC9e price starts at 1299 yuan (Rs. 13,030 approx.) for the 4GB/64GB version and goes up to 1599 yuan (Rs. 16,035 approx.) for the 6GB/128GB version. It will go on sale from July 9.
