Realme 5 with 64MP Camera Launching on August 15: Everything You Need to Know

Realme India CEO Madhav Sheth has somehow confirmed that the company’s 64MP camera phone will be called Realme 5. Madhav has changed his name on Twitter to Madhav ‘5’ Quad, which confirms that the upcoming phone could be called Realme 5 and will have a quad-camera setup as well.

Realme is expected to launch its 64MP camera smartphone soon, reportedly on August 15 in China. The company has also scheduled an event in India on August 8 to showcase its 64MP camera technology.  We are likely to get more details about the phone after that.

Realme 5

Earlier, it was expected that this 64MP quad-camera smartphone could be called the Realme 4. However, Chinese smartphone brands skip number four as it is considered unlucky in their homeland. Now, Realme India CEO has also confirmed that the company may skip the number four for its upcoming smartphone.

Further, the upcoming Realme phone is confirmed to sport a new 64MP sensor in a quad-camera setup. It is likely to be the worlds first phone with the 64MP sensor. We already know that it will be Samsung’s GW1 sensor that offers big 1.6microns pixels.

Also, it was reported earlier this year that Realme was planning on launching a premium smartphone with top-notch specs including Snapdragon 855. Until now the company has only launched smartphones under the 20k segment. So Realme 5 could break that trend.

Unfortunately, any other details regarding Realme 5 are not available at the moment. However, according to a report, the smartphone will be announced in China on 15th August. We can expect that the device will arrive in India in September.

More details about Realme 5 is expected to arrive soon after the August 8 event in India.

Meanwhile, Xiaomi is also planning to launch its own 64MP camera phone soon and they will showcase the technology today in China. This phone is also expected to launch in India.

We will update you about both the companies’ camera tech after the announcement. So stay tuned!
