Realme XT or Redmi Note 8 Pro: Which Phone will be Launched First in India?

Realme and Xiaomi are the first companies to bring 64MP quad-camera phones. Xiaomi has already launched its Redmi Note 8 Pro in China while Realme has also showcased its Realme XT there at a media brief. The Chinese companies have already confirmed their smartphone’s India launch, however, none of them has revealed an exact date.

Realme has promised to bring its 64MP camera phone in India before Diwali, while the Redmi Note 8 Pro will come in around 8 weeks, as per a tweet by Xiaomi‘s Manu Kumar Jain. So, these both phones will come to India within the next two months.

India Launch Details

Realme has already announced that the launch of the Realme XT in India will happen around September end. The company, at the launch of Realme 5 series dropped the teaser suggesting the phone may launch in India by late September or early October.

Meanwhile, the Redmi Note 8 Pro is expected to launch in India, not before October-end, as per the tweet by Manu Kumar. So, it looks like Realme XT could be the first phone in India to come with a 64MP camera.

Realme XT Specs

To recall, Realme XT comes with a 6.4-inch FHD+ (1080×2340) Super AMOLED dewdrop display and sports an in-display fingerprint scanner. It uses Corning Gorilla Glass 5 on both front and rear. The XT is powered by a Snapdragon 712 chipset, just like the Realme 5 Pro.

The highlight of the phone is, of course, the 64MP quad-camera setup. It sports Samsung’s 64MP GW1 sensor, an 8-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens, a 2-megapixel macro lens, and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. The 16-megapixel selfie camera is a Sony IMX471 sensor. The device packs a 4,000mAh battery with 20W VOOC 3.0 fast charging support.

Redmi Note 8 Pro Specs

The Redmi Note 8 Pro also uses Gorilla Glass 5 on front and rear and packs a 6.53-inch FHD+ dotnotch display. It also uses an IP52 splash-proof body which offers protection against rain and sweat. The phone packs MediaTek’s latest Helio G90T processor.

The device also has a LiquidCool system. In terms of camera, it also uses a Samsung 64MP GW1 sensor with ISOCELL Plus technology, an 8MP ultra-wide lens with a 120° field of view, 2MP macro lens, and 2MP depth sensor. There is a 20MP selfie camera. It has a 4500mAh battery with 18W Type-C fast charging support.

Expected Price

As for the pricing, we expect the Realme XT will be priced a bit higher than the Realme 5 Pro, and it will come around Rs. 15,999. The Redmi Note 8 Pro, on the other hand, will go on sale in China starting at 1399 yuan which means it could come to India at Rs. 13,999.
