Samsung launched its Galaxy M21 smartphone in India last week as a successor to last year’s Galaxy M20. The budget-range phone has features like a 6.4-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED display, Exynos 9611 processor, triple rear cameras with a 48MP sensor, 20MP front camera and a 6000mAh battery with 15W fast charging. It is priced at Rs. 12,999.

At the same starting price, Xiaomi launched its Redmi Note 9 Pro in its popular Note series. To recall the key specs of Note 9 Pro, it has a 6.67-inch Full HD+ LCD screen, 48MP primary rear camera, Snapdragon 720G processor, and a 5020mAh battery. So, we decided to compare both the phones to help you which one to choose.

Galaxy M21 Vs Redmi Note 9 Pro

Design: Plastic Vs Glass

The new Samsung Galaxy M21 sports a plastic body that comes in Blue and Black colors. It is 8.9mm thick, its weight is 188g and it has a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor.

The Redmi Note 9 Pro sports a glass back with Gorilla Glass 5 protection that comes in Black, Blue, and White colors. It is 8.8mm thick, its weight is 209g and it has a side-mounted fingerprint scanner. The smartphone also comes with a splash-proof P2i coating.

The Galaxy M21 features a 6.4-inch Full HD+(2340 x 1080 pixels) Infinity-U type Super AMOLED display with Gorilla Glass 3 protection.

The Redmi Note 9 Pro sports a 6.67-inch Full HD+(2400 × 1080 pixels) LCD screen with punch-hole and Gorilla Glass 5 protection.

The Galaxy M21 is powered by Exynos 9611 10nm processor with Mali-G72MP3 GPU. It is paired with 4GB LPDDR4x RAM and up to 128GB UFS 2.1 storage that is expandable up to 512GB.

The Redmi Note 9 Pro is powered by Snapdragon 720G 8nm processor with Adreno 618 GPU. It packs up to 6GB LPPDDR4x RAM and up to 128GB UFS 2.1 storage that is expandable up to 256GB.

Cameras: 48MP Triple Vs 48MP Quad

The Galaxy M21 sports a triple camera setup on the back that includes a 48MP main camera with f/2.0 aperture, an 8MP 123° ultra-wide-angle camera, and a 5MP depth sensor.

The Note 9 Pro has a quad rear camera setup that includes a 48MP sensor with f/1.79 aperture, an 8MP 120° ultra-wide-angle lens, a 5MP macro lens, and a 2MP depth sensor.

Coming to the conclusion, the Redmi Note 9 Pro has a better design with glass, it has quad cameras, Snapdragon processor and better fast charging. While Galaxy M21 has a better display, a good processor for a budget phone, a better selfie camera, and a bigger battery. You can decide by looking at these aspects and on the basis of your priorities. Overall, these two phones are a good buy under Rs. 13k.
