Redmi India is planning to launch its Redmi Note 9 smartphone in India on July 20. The company has dropped a teaser on social media which suggests that they are launching the next phone in the Redmi Note 9 series.
To recall, Xiaomi has already introduced the Redmi Note 9 smartphone for the global markets back in April. The new phone in the Redmi Note series is the first smartphone powered by the MediaTek’s latest Helio G85 8nm processor.
Other key features of the smartphone include a 6.53-inch Full HD+ punch-hole display with Gorilla Glass 5, quad rear cameras with a 48MP primary camera, a 13MP front camera, and a 5020mAh battery with 18W fast charging.

Plastic Design
If we talk about design, the Note 9 and comes in a plastic back panel, and is available in Forest Green, Polar White, and Midnight Grey colors. The body also has splash-resistant P2i nanocoating.
It comes with a punch-hole in the top left corner of the screen compared to the center punch-hole in the Note 9 Pro. Also, the fingerprint sensor is moved back from the side. The rear camera module is the same but flash is moved to the right side.
Dimensions of the new handset are 162.38×77.2×8.95mm and its weight is 199g.
Display
The new Redmi Note 9 sports a 6.53-inch Full HD+(2340 × 1080 pixels) LCD screen with 450nit brightness which also comes with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection.
Helio G85 Processor
The new Redmi phone gets an Octa-Core MediaTek Helio G85 8nm processor with a Mali-G52 GPU. It is an enhanced version of Helio G80 that sits between Helio G80 and Helio G90T SoCs.
It pairs with up to 4GB LPPDDR4x RAM and up to 128GB UFS 2.1 storage that is expandable up to 512GB with a microSD card.
48MP Quad Camera
In terms of camera, the quad rear camera setup on the phone includes a 48MP primary Samsung GM1 sensor with f/1.79 aperture, an 8MP 118° ultra-wide-angle lens, a 2MP macro camera, and a 2MP depth sensor.
The selfie camera is a 13MP sensor with f/2.25 aperture.
Battery and Fast Charging
The device packs a big 5,020mAh battery with 18W fast charging support and a fast charger comes inside the box.
Connectivity
Connectivity features on the phone include Dual SIM, Dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac (2.4GHz + 5GHz), Bluetooth 5, NFC (optional), GPS + GLONASS, 3.5mm audio jack, and USB Type-C.
Price, Availability
Redmi Note 9 price starts at $199 (Rs. 14,900 approx.) for the 3GB+64GB version and the 4GB+128GB version costs $249 (Rs. 18,600 approx.). However, it seems to cost less in India, so Redmi Note 9 price in India could be between Rs. 10,000 and Rs. 12,000.
As per the Redmi website, the phone will launch on July 20 in India. The Redmi Note 9 sale in India may start early August.
