The Italian company I’m SpA have introduced a smart watch I’m watch at CSE which can connect with your smart-phone so that you can operate the application from the watch. I’m Watch is a wristwatch that will be running Android 1.6.

I’m Watch is basically an Android device in the form of a wristwatch. It does use a special version of Android called i’m Droid 2 based on Android 1.6  Lest first have a look over the basic features of this smart watch :

This watch is preloaded with a few basic apps, all of which have been customized. It got app for Music, Facebook , Twitter, Weather, Stocks, Gallery, News, Calendar, an Address book, and finally a calling app. to use this you need to pair the watch via Bluetooth 2.1 to any smart-phone in order for it to act either as a wrist-bound “speakerphone” (though the volume is quite low) or to tether it so it can gather data for all of its apps. This watch was expected to allow us the fast access over the internet but the scenario is not exact. But this watch is leggy on a good day as performance ranges from slow to completely unresponsive. Many time it freezes and needs to be rebooted. More over every tap or button click takes 1-2 seconds to register.

Also Form the looks point of view this watch is really thick, and the featured with rubber watch band which looks like something like a watch from a $20 Casio watch. But since this is a smart-phone we were expecting it to be worth due to the features and the expectation that it will allow us a fast access to the internet but the result was upsetting.

I’m SpA has announced that this watch will be coming with price tag of $349 for the basic “I’m Watch Color” version. There are also an “I’m Tech” and “I’m Jewel” versions, which are simply better-looking and<iframe width=”640″ height=”360″ src=”http://www.youtube.com/embed/vYPPjzzde4A” frameborder=”0″ allowfullscreen></iframe> more expensive versions of the same watch. The company says the watch is “in production phase” right now and should ship soon, but didn’t have an exact release date yet. From the present performance the watch seems no where worth but one can give a chance to check the performance when this I’m watch comes to the markets.
