Lenovo A6000 VS YU Yureka VS Redmi Note 4G Comparison Overview

Updated on 16-1-2015 (4: 00 PM): Lenovo A6000 has been priced at 6,999.  That’s a pretty impressive price for the hardware offered. To purchase Lenovo A6000, you will have to register on Flipkart. Registration starts on 16th January and sales will start on 28th January.

Micromax introduced its YU brand smartphone Yureka to challenge Xiaomi in India and very soon, Lenovo will step into the game with its Lenovo A6000, based on the same principles. The handset has been tailor made for Indian audience and that in itself is a challenging task. Let’s stack Lenovo A6000 against its primary rivals.

Display and Processor

While Yureka and Redmi Note 4G sport a 5.5 Inch display with 720p HD resolution. Lenovo A6000 will feature a slightly smaller 5 Inch display with same number of pixels. This makes Lenovo A6000’s display sharper and more endearing for those who don’t prefer extra large display phablets. Out of the three, only Yureka comes with Gorilla Glass 3 protection on top.

Out of the three, Yureka has the most powerful chipset. It comes loaded with Snapdragon 615 octa core SoC clocked at 1.5 GHz. The Redmi Note comes with 1.6 GHz quad core Snapdragon 400 processor with 2 GB RAM and the Lenovo A6000 comes with its 64 bit variant, i.e. 1.2 GHz Snapdragon 410 quad core with 1 GB RAM.

Camera and Internal Storage

While Yureka and Redmi Note both have a 13 MP rear camera/ 5 MP front camera, Lenovo A600 falls behind in terms of Megapixel race with an 8 MP rear camera and a 2 MP front camera. This however doesn’t necessarily mean that it will be inferior in quality.

Internal storage is 16 GB on Yureka and 8 GB on Lenovo A6000 and Redmi Note 4 GB. Yureka has a significant advantage in this segment. All three support MicroSD card expansion, so you can add secondary storage when required.

Battery and Other Features

The battery capacity is 3100 mAh on Redmi Note 4G, 2300 mAh on Lenovo A6000 and 2500 mAh on Yureka. Out of Yureka and Redmi Note 4g, Redmi Note gives better battery backup and it will be challenging for A6000 to lead the race.

For now, all three smartphones are running Android 4.4.2 based custom ROMs but all three will be upgraded to Android Lollipop very soon. Yureka with Cyanoges OS and Redmi Note 4G with MIUI are regularly updated with bug fixes and other added features, which is a good thing. All three phones support 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS connectivity.
