Lenovo K6 Note vs Samsung Galaxy J7 (2016), Quick Comparison Review

After the much popular K6 power, Lenovo has launched K6 Note in India. The phone is the successor to the Lenovo K5 Note, that was unveiled on 1st August this year.

On the other hand, Samsung Galaxy J7 (2016) was launched on 29th March this year. As the name suggests it is an upgraded variant of Galaxy J7 that was already available in the market. Let us now take a look at the quick comparison between the Lenovo K6 Note and Samsung Galaxy J7 (2016).

Design & Build

Lenovo K6 Note comes with a full-metal unibody design. It features a 5.5 inch display with 72.7 % screen to body ratio. It dimensions are 151 x 76 x 8.4 mm and it weighs around 169 grams. On the back it has a round shaped fingerprint sensor.


On the other hand, Samsung Galaxy J7 2016 comes with a metal frame and a back panel with brushed metal finish. It also features a 5.5 inch display with 72.3 % screen to body ratio. Its dimensions are 151.7 x 76 x 7.8 mm and it weighs around 170 grams.

Display

Lenovo K6 Note has a 5.5 inch IPS LCD display with a screen resolution of 1920×1080 pixels (Full HD) and a pixel density of 401 ppi.

On the other hand, Samsung Galaxy J7 (2016) has a 5.5 inch Super AMOLED display with a screen resolution of 720×1280 pixels (HD) and a pixel density of 267 ppi.

Camera

Lenovo K6 Note is equipped with a 16 MP primary camera with phase detection autofocus and dual tone LED flash. It features geo-tagging, touch focus, face detection, HDR and panorama. It supports full HD recording @ 30 fps. On the front it has a 8 MP shooter.

While, Samsung Galaxy J7 2016 is equipped with a 13 MP primary camera with f/1.9 aperture, CMOS sensor, 28mm lens, autofocus and LED flash. It also features geo-tagging, touch focus, face detection, HDR and panorama. It also supports full HD recording @ 30 fps. On the front, it has 5 MP camera with f/1.9 aperture and LED flash.

Hardware, Storage & OS

Lenovo K6 Note is powered by a 1.4 GHz octa core (cortex A53) processor with Qualcomm MSM8937 Snapdragon 430 chipset and adreno 505 GPU. It will come in two variants, one with 3 GB RAM & 32 GB internal storage, the other with 4 GB RAM & 64 GB internal storage.

On the other hand, Samsung J7 2016 is powered by a 1.6 GHz octa core processor with Exynos 7870 chipset and  Mali-T830 MP1 GPU. It comes with 2 GB RAM and 16 GB internal storage that is expandable up to 128 GB via dedicated microSD slot.

Both the device run on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow.

Battery and Other Features

Lenovo K6 Note is backed by a 4000 mAH Li-po battery, that is non removable. K6 Note is also equipped with a fingerprint sensor that is missing in Samsung J7 2016. Other sensors include accelerometer, gyro, proximity and compass. It also comes with dolby atmos speakers and theatermax technology.

On the other hand, Samsung Galaxy J7 2016 is backed by a 3300 mAh battery, that is removable. It is only equipped with Accelerometer and proximity sensors. But it has some unique features like s bike mode and ultra power saving mode.

Price and Availability

Lenovo K6 Note is priced at Rs. 13,999 for the 3 GB / 64 GB variant. It will be available via offline stores in three colours namely Gold, Dark Gray and Silver.

On the other hand Samsung J7 2016 is priced at Rs. 15,990 and it is available on Flipkart in three colors namely black, gold and white colors.

Conclusion

Overall, Lenovo K6 Note has more RAM and storage but it does not have a dedicated microSD slot like Samsung J7. Lenovo K6 Note has a fingerprint and gyroscope sensor that are missing in the latter. K6 Note has a better battery but it is non removable, while j7 2016 has a removable battery. J7 2016 has a good brand value and better after sale support, whereas Lenovo K6 Note has a better camera on paper.
