Display & Processor

In terms of the display on all three of these devices, you’ll find that two of these have similar specification displays, whereas the third one has a less resolution display. The Redmi Note 3 and the LeEco Le 1S have a 5.5-inch Full HD IPS display, whereas the Coolpad Note 3 has a 5.5-inch HD display. The difference in resolution is noticeable only when you place all three of these displays against each other. The display on the Redmi Note 3 is the best out of the lot as it has good color accuracy and has a good sunlight visibility, the two things that I look for in a display.

In terms of processor, all three of these smartphones feature different processors. The Redmi Note 3 features a Snapdragon 650 processor, whereas the Le 1S has a MediaTek Helio X10 processor and the Coolpad Note 3 has a Mediatek MT6753 processor. Out of the lot, in terms of performance, the Snapdragon and Helio X10 can still be considered close to each other, but still the Snapdragon 650 wins over the Helio X10 when gaming on the devices.

User Interface & Operating System

All three of these smartphones feature the Android Lollipop 5.1, but with their own customizations. The Redmi Note 3 comes with MIUI 7, the Xiaomi skin, the LeEco Le 1S comes with the EUI and the Coolpad Note 3 comes with Cool UI 6.0.

Choosing the look of the operating system comes down to personal preference here because they all run on the same core version of Android, the Android Lollipop 5.1.

Camera & Storage

The camera is one of the most common things that people look for in smartphones these days. The camera on the Redmi Note 3 is a 16-megapixel shooter whereas the cameras on the Le 1S and the Coolpad Note 3 are 13 megapixels. But apart from the megapixel count, Redmi Note 3 and Le 1S have a very comparable camera. In terms of the pictures that these cameras take, in some lighting conditions, the Redmi Note 3 wins whereas in the other rounds, the Le 1S takes a lead.

Coming to the storage on the devices, the Redmi Note 3 comes with either 16GB or 32GB of storage, whereas the Le 1S comes with 32GB of storage and the Coolpad Note 3 comes in just 16GB variant. The Redmi Note 3 and Coolpad Note 3 feature a microSD card expansion capability, whereas the LeEco Le 1S lacks that feature.

Battery & Other Features

The battery on the Redmi Note 3 is a massive 4050mAh battery, whereas the Le 1S and Coolpad Note 3 feature a 3000mAh battery. But going by the battery backup that these three phones give, the Redmi Note 3 comes in the first place, the Coolpad Note 3 in the second and the Le 1S the last. That’s because the Coolpad Note 3 has just an HD display that it has to power, whereas the Le 1S has to power a full HD display.

All three of these smartphones feature a fingerprint scanner, located at the back, just underneath the camera. That’s like the new favorite position to place a fingerprint sensor these days. In terms of the weight of the devices, the Redmi Note 3 with a larger battery weighs less than the other two. The Redmi Note 3 weighs 164 grams, whereas the other two have a weight of 169 grams each.

Pricing & Availability

The Redmi Note 3 is priced at INR 9,999 or INR 11,999 for the two different variants, the Le 1S is priced at INR 10,999 and the Coolpad Note 3 is priced at INR 8,999, the cheapest of the lot. In terms of availability, the Redmi Note 3 is available via a flash sale model, whereas the Coolpad Note 3 and the Le 1S are available all the time on online portals.

Conclusion

Overall, if you’re looking for a cheaper device that meets your needs, the Coolpad Note 3 might be a better choice but if you are willing to extend your budget by just a few thousand rupees, the Redmi Note 3 might be a better purchase for you, given that you are ready to go through the flash sales that they conduct every now and then.
