Download a selected area of the map

  1. Make sure you’re connected to the Internet, then open the Google Maps app.
  2. Search for a place, like “New Delhi.”
  3. Pull up the place info sheet at the bottom of the screen, and touch the menu in the top right corner.
  4. Select Save offline map to save the selected area of the map. (Sign into your Google Account, if you haven’t already.)
  5. Only what’s on the screen will be saved. Adjust the map by moving it and zooming in or out, as needed, then touchSave.
  6. Name the map, and then touch Save.
  7. After a few moments, you’ll see a message confirming that the map area has been saved.

Music

You can listen to music online, but you can do so offline. You can not just listen to music on your SDcard but also save recordings from FM on many smartphones. Besides these, you can actually download podcasts for listening on the go.

Videos

YouTube now allows you to save videos for offline viewing. All you have to do is click on the download button under YouTube videos and it will save videos. You can see these videos in the offline videos tab, even when you are offline.

Some videos though can’t be saved like this because of copyright issues.
