How to link your Aadhaar Card with your mobile number from home

The government of India has made it mandatory for the citizens to link their Aadhaar cards with their mobile number. Now you can do so easily, even without leaving your home. While the government had issued the instructions earlier, they’re now being implemented by operators.

Now you can link your Aadhaar card with your phone number through an Interactive Voice Response (IVR). You just have to make a call to the toll free IVR number and follow the instructions. Within 48 hours, your Aadhaar card will be linked to your mobile number.

While the government announced the rule a while ago, the deadline were recently revised to March 31, 2018. If you still haven’t linked your Aadhaar card with your  mobile number, now you can do so sitting at home. UIDAI (Unique Identification Authority of India) is now rolling out Interactive Voice Response (IVR) to ease the process.

Earlier, an announcement was made that you can link your Aadhaar with mobile number either from your operator’s website or via OTP using IVR. The IVR support started from January 1, 2018. Here are the steps to follow for easy linking.

How to link your Aadhaar Card to you Mobile number

Step 1: Dial 14546 (toll free) and wait for the IVR response
Step 2: Select your preferred language (The IVR supports English, Hindi, and other regional languages)
Step 3: Give your consent to link Aadhaar with your mobile number
Step 4: Enter your 12-digit Aadhaar number
Step 5: Give consent to the IVR to access your details including name, DOB, and linked address
Step 6: Enter the OTP you receive via SMS
