As the launch for the LG V30 is nearing, more and more information is surfacing about the phone. The V30 is LG’s second flagship device to launch this year. Official statement from LG has made it clear the V30 will not have a secondary display and will come with LG’s UX 6.0+.

Talking about the LG V30, it is the upcoming flagship in the LG V series, which is famous for its secondary display. The V30, however, will not have a secondary display. Instead, it will feature a Floating Action bar, accompanied by an Always-On display.

In statements from LG, many features of the LG V30 have been confirmed. Starting with the Secondary display, you will not get it on the V30, instead, it is replaced by a Floating Action Bar. The company claims it will seamlessly blend with the FullVision display on the V30.


To begin with, the semi-transparent Action Bar can be placed on any side of the screen as per user convenience. The bar can also be removed from the display if you want. You can launch favourite apps and functions using the Action Bar, just like the Secondary display on the V20.

Going further, LG has optimized the Always-On Display on the LG V30 to show the clock, Quick Tools, Music Player, or even personal photographs. Also, you will be able to unlock your LG V30 using Voice Unlocking. It is supported by Qualcomm Aqstic voice UI technology for always-on, always-listening capabilities that require very little battery power.

LG has also added Graphy in the V30, which allows photography enthusiasts to capture images and apply effects and filters in a professional manner.

LG V30 Leaked Specifications

Talking about the leaks, Korean website ETnews has reported that the LG V30 will come in two variants, a regular one and a ‘Plus’ variant. This difference is not in the display size but in the memory of the smartphone. While the LG V30 is expected to pack 64GB internal memory, the Plus variant is expected to have 128GB.

Also, the Plus variant and the regular one are expected to have differences on grounds of Audio System and Wireless Charging capabilities.

Apart from these differences, both variants from the LG V30 are expected to come with 6-inch FullVision OLED display. The camera setup is expected to be a Dual camera setup of 16MP + 13MP lenses.

On the performance front, you may get a Snapdragon 835 processor with 6GB RAM. The UI has already been confirmed by LG to be highly customizable, named the UX 6.0+. The V30 is expected to pack a 3,200 mAh battery to power it.

Pricing and Availability

The LG V30 is the upcoming flagship from LG. The 64GB variant is expected to be priced at $700, which translates roughly to Rs. 44,800. The Plus variant with 128GB memory is speculated to be priced at $875, which means roughly Rs. 56,000. The V30 is set to launch on August 31 this year.
