Steps to Manual Update OnePlus 2 to Oxygen OS 2.2

OnePlus 2 users have a got a new reason to rejoice as OnePlus has released an incremental update to Oxygen OS 2.2.2 , company’s own operating system. The size of this update is 44 MB and it comes as a fix to various bugs and performance issues that OnePlus 2 users were facing earlier.

The changelog for the update is as follows:

1. Fixed dual SIM preference selection issues in settings
2. Added NTFS and exFAT support for OTG
3. Fixed Google Camera photo-sphere and panorama bugs
4. Screen temperature can now be adjusted from quick settings
5. Added hide search bar option in launcher settings
6. Security patches
7. Holiday wallpapers
8. General bug fixes and optimizations​.
Please follow the detailed guide below to update your OnePlus 2 OS to the latest version Oxygen OS 2.2.2.
Before proceeding please make a back up of all the data on your phone including contacts, messages, photos, videos and all the other stuff that you have stored on your phone.
After you have done the full backup follow the following steps:
For Non-rooted user with stock recovery.
Follow the steps below if you have not rooted your smartphone and using the stock recovery.
Step 1: Download this file and put this into the root directory of your phone and not in any other folder.
Step 2: Switch off your phone. Now Press Power button and Volume down button at the same time and your phone will boot into recovery mode.
Step 3: Using Volume down key select the option that says “install update” and Press Power button to confirm it.  Now the update process will begin.
Please do not interrupt the update process at all as it may brick your phone.
For Rooted users with TWRP Recovery
Follow the steps if your have rooted your phone and installed custom TWRP recovery.
Step 1: Download Oxygen OS 2.1.2 zip file from here. Now download the Oxygen OS 2.2.2 zip file from here.
Step 2: Switch off your phone. Now Press Power button and Volume down button at the same time and your phone will boot into TWRP mode.
Step 3: Once in the TWRP mode, tap on Install and select the Oxygen OS 2.1.2 zip file and Swipe to confirm. After the installation is successful tap on Home option and then tap again on Install and select the Oxygen OS 2.2.2 zip file and let the update process finish.
Step 4: After the update is successful tap on Wipe Dalvik/Cache and then tap on Reboot System.
Step 5: On the next screen there will be an option for disabling the stock recovery so that you can continue to use TWRP. Simply Swipe to Disable.
Your phone will reboot and will be running the latest Oxygen OS 2.2.2 with all the bugs fixed and other
optimizations.
