June 2017 seems to be quite eventful for the Indian smartphone industry. There are a number of high profile launches scheduled this month. Starting from the recently launched Motorola Moto Z2 Play, till the upcoming OnePlus 5, it is probably the best time to choose your desired handset. In this article, we will tell you about the top phones that are going to be released in India in June 2017.

Nokia 6, Nokia 5 and Nokia 3

Yes. It is true. Nokia is finally making a comeback to India. While this may not be the older Nokia that you had used a few years ago; still, HMD Global, the company behind the new generation Nokia smartphones have tried their best to maintain the legacy of the Finnish brand.

The Nokia 6, Nokia 5 and the Nokia 3 were launched in India earlier today, while the Nokia 3310 was launched last month.

Coming to the specs, the Nokia 6 packs a 5.5-inch Full HD (1080 x 1920) display covered with Gorilla Glass 3. Inside, there is the Snapdragon 430 SoC, 3 GB or 4 GB of RAM and up to 64 GB of onboard storage. The phone sports a 16 MP rear camera along with an 8 MP selfie unit. A fingerprint scanner is embedded into the home button.

The Nokia 6 features all the necessary connectivity options including 4G LTE and VoLTE. A 3000mAh battery juices up the handset. The phone is launched today, i.e. 13th June for Rs. 14,999.

The Nokia 5, it is a slightly lower specced version of Nokia 6. It comes with a 5.2-inch HD (1280 x 720) screen and boasts the Snapdragon 430 chipset. There is 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal memory.

A 13 MP camera sits at the back of the Nokia 5 and an 8 MP unit at the front. Connectivity and battery capacity is similar to the Nokia 6. The Nokia 5 costs Rs. 12,999.

Lastly, the Nokia 3 is the cheapest among the three upcoming smartphones. It sports a 5-inch HD (1280 x 720) IPS LCD panel and gets powered by the quad-core MediaTek MT6737 chip. The phone has 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of storage.

There are two 8 MP cameras, one in the back and another at the front. A 2650mAh cell fuels up the Nokia 3. The handset does support 4G LTE, VoLTE, and other usual connectivity features. It is priced at Rs. 9499.

OnePlus 5

This is one of most anticipated smartphones around the globe. With its international launch scheduled on 20th June 2017, the OnePlus 5 will come to India as soon as 22nd June. The successor of the OnePlus 3T will come with dual camera setup paired with top notch internals. The phone is expected to pack a 5.5-inch Full HD display and a metal unibody construction.

The OnePlus 5 will pack the mighty Snapdragon 835 SoC along with up to 8 GB of RAM. The smartphone shall support all the latest connectivity options including 4G LTE and VoLTE. Talking about the pricing, the 6 GB / 64 GB OnePlus 5 is expected to cost around Rs. 32,999 while the 8GB / 128 GB variant may retail for Rs. 37,999.

Samsung Galaxy J5 (2017)

This is the upcoming midrange offering from Samsung. The Galaxy J5 (2017) comes with a 5.2-inch Super AMOLED display with HD (1280 x 720) resolution. The new generation J5 comes with a fresh metal unibody design with subtle antenna lines. Inside, there is the Exynos 7870 Octa SoC with eight Cortex A53 cores clocked at 1.6 GHz each.

The Galaxy J5 (2017) features 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of onboard storage along with a dedicated micro SD card slot. The phone runs Android 7.1.1 Nougat out of the box.

Camera-wise, the new J5 has got a 13 MP rear shooter and a 5 MP selfie unit. The smartphone packs all the connectivity options including 4G LTE, dual band Wi-Fi, VoLTE, etc. The Samsung Galaxy J5 (2017) is expected to cost around Rs. 20,000 in India.

HTC U11 is all set to launch on June 16th in India. The latest flagship from HTC comes with a 5.5 inch Quad HD display, octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor and unique Sense Edge “squeeze” gestures.

Imaging wise, the U11 comes with a 12 MP rear camera with dual LED flash, OIS, EIS and 1.4μm pixel size, with support for slow motion and 4K video recording. The front houses a 16 MP camera.

The U11 features 4GB/6GB RAM and 64GB/128GB internal storage, with microSD card support. HTC is expected to only launch the 6GB/128GB version in India, though.

If you are aspiring to get a new smartphone, you should certainly wait for a couple of weeks until the end of June 2017. There are some nice handsets that will be coming to India this month. So, if you buy a device in haste now, you may end up regretting later.
