Celkon Signature Two A500 Quick Review, Price and Comparison

Celkon today launched another budget Android smartphone, Celkon Signature Two A500 in India to compete in lower budget market as compared to its much hyped Millenium Vogue smartphone. The smartphone boast of a decent spec sheet, let’s take a look at where Celkon Signature Two A500s stands with respect to its specifications.

Camera and Internal Storage

The primary camera has a 5 MP sensor which is standard in this price range. Celkon Millennium Vogue made some grave compromises in imaging department as well which makes us little skeptical about its quality. Celkon hasn’t listed camera features so far and it’s most likely a fixed focus shooter.

Internal storage of 8 GB is certainly more than welcome in this price range. Several smartphone vendors are still sticking to 4 GB of native storage. Presence of faster Nand flash storage will enhance user experience.

Processor and Battery

The processor used is 1.3 GHz Dual core MT6572 which is assisted by 1 GB RAM for smooth performance. Many smartphones like Micromax Canvas Engage offer quad core chipset with 512 MB RAM in this price range, but we do think dual core with double 1 GB RAM is a better combination for basic usage budget androids are meant for.

Battery capacity is 2000 mAh which sounds ok considering the software, chipset and display. Celkon has not detailed standby time or talk time you can extract from the battery.

Display and Other Features

The display is 5 inches in size with usable 854 x480 pixels. The display is not an IPS LCD panel but it is certainly not a deal breaker considering the price. Since there is no Ambient light sensor, you will have to set brightness manually.

Software is the latest Android 4.4.2 KitKat which is better optimized for low end hardware and will provide with great Android experience. SAR value is 0.371 W/kg head and 0.405 W/kg body. Other features include Dual SIM. 3G, WiFi, MicroUSB, G-Sensor, Proximity sensor and Bluetooth.

Comparison

Celkon Signature Two A500 will compete with phones like Moto E, Micromax Canvas Fire, Micromax Canvas Engage and Spice Stellar 451 3G.
