The entry-level smartphone segment is heating up these days with some very good value for money smartphones being launched. In our comparison today, we pit the Coolpad Mega against the Xiaomi Redmi 3s and the Swipe Elite Plus. You may not have expected to have a high resolution display or 2 GB RAM or an 8 MP camera half an year ago, but you can have almost all those specs these days in the entry level segment as well.

Thanks to fierce competition and some extremely well made phones, the entry level smartphone segment has never been filled with as many good smartphones as it is right now. You can almost everything for up to Rs. 9,000 these days – a HD display, Android 5.1 Lollipop or later, 2 GB RAM, 5-8 MP main cameras, 16 GB internal storage, dual SIM, 4G LTE support and even fingerprint sensors.

The Swipe Elite Plus has been priced at Rs. 6,999. The device is available in Midnight Blue and White color variants. It is sold exclusively by Flipkart.

Conclusion

This is a very neck-to-neck fight between the three phones. You get a minimum of dual SIM, 4G LTE, HD display, 8 MP main camera, Lollipop and a range of other features. While you may not have heard about Coolpad and Swipe as much as Xiaomi, those two companies have come prepared fairly well for the entry level price segment. For Rs. 7000, all the three phones are very good value for money, with the Redmi 3s being slightly ahead of the two due to its brand recall and the bigger 4100 mAh battery.
