Moto G vs Galaxy Grand Quattro Comparison Overview

Motorola has just got itself a flying start in its second innings in the country with the launch of the Moto G for Rs 12,499/13,999 and it is running out of stocks as soon as it is coming back in stock. The demand for the same is phenomenal and it will be eating into the market share of the Galaxy Grand Quattro which is on sale for about Rs 15,000 in the Indian market. Seeing the fact that you’d be spoilt for choice, let us have a look at the comparison of the both to find which one’s better.

Moto G vs Grand Quattro

Display and Processor:

The Moto G comes shod with a 4.5 inch screen which has a 720p resolution and the same features Corning Gorilla Glass 3 on top of it for scratch resistance. It has a pixel density of 329 pixels per inch, making it pretty much the brightest unit in its segment. Whereas on the other hand, the Galaxy Grand Quattro has a 4.7 inch screen albeit with a 800 x 480 pixels resolution. Do we need to say the Moto G is way better than its competitor in this department?

The Moto G has a 1.2 GHz quad core Snapdragon 400 processor under the hood which is based on Cortex A7 architecture and offers a level of performance better than the ones in the similar price range. The Grand Quattro features a 1.2 GHz quad core processor based on Cortex A5 architecture which is way inferior to the one found on the Moto G.

Camera and Memory:

The Moto G comes with 2 memory options of 8GB and 16GB but doesn’t get expandable storage. The Grand Quattro gets 8GB of internal storage which can be expanded by another 32GB courtesy of the microSD card slot it brings to the table.

Both of them have a 5.0MP rear camera but the Moto G offers better picture quality and video recording capabilities. The Grand Quattro gets a VGA front camera whereas the Motorola counterpart gets a 1.3MP front snapper which offers better performance.

Battery and Features:

The Moto G gets a 2,070 mAh battery giving it the juice which will easily last a day with moderate usage. The same holds true for the Grand Quattro which has a 2,000 mAh battery. So it will be pretty much the same in both the cases.

Both of them feature a 1GB RAM but we feel that Moto G will have better multitasking abilities seeing the fact that it runs on stock Android and has no bloatware to deal with.

The Moto G runs on stock Android 4.3 with an upgrade to Android 4.4 KitKat being promised as well. The Grand Quattro runs on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean with Touchwiz UI on top and won’t be upgraded any further we believe. So the Moto G makes a lot more sense.

Conclusion:

Both the devices get 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS for ensuring that you always remain connected. So it is pretty much a tie in this regard. Coming to a close, we believe the Moto G comes across as a way better alternative and with the attractive offers with which it is available, it doesn’t get any better than this at a sub Rs 15,000 price point.
