Vivo V11 Pro Vs Oppo F9 Pro: Price, Specifications and Features Comparison

Chinese smartphone makers Oppo and Vivo have launched their latest F series and V series smartphones in India. The Oppo F9 Pro and the Vivo V11 Pro are the mid-range devices that have a lot in common such as a bezel-less display with new waterdrop notch on the top. The two smartphones, just like other Oppo Vivo phones, are camera focused.

Among other things, the two phones run Android 8.1 Oreo with their respective proprietary UI skins on top. Considering their price in India and specifications, they can be compared. Here, we do a comparison between the two popular and new looking mid-range devices- Oppo F9 Pro and Vivo V11 Pro.

Physical Overview: Notch to Notch

Starting with the design first, both Oppo and Vivo have started the newest design trend in the market with their full-screen displays. In a time, when every phone manufacturer is copying the iPhone X-style notch, Oppo and Vivo go a step ahead to offer a full-screen experience. Both the devices are almost similar when looked at the front with a new waterdrop notch on top of their display.

Coming to the back of the devices, the Vivo V11 Pro comes with a stunning glossy back with gradient color finish. On the other hand, Oppo F9 Pro sports a back finish with diamond cut patterns. Both the phones are slim, lightweight and easy to handle with one hand, but, with its glossy back, Vivo looks a little more premium.

Display: AMOLED Vs IPS LCD

The Vivo V11 Pro features a 6.41-inch full HD+ display at a resolution of 1080×2340 pixels. The Halo FullView display with 19.5:9 aspect ratio comes with very thin bezels on each side and a very small notch on top. The display is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3. The display is bright with good colors. Moreover, it features a fingerprint reader in it.

The Oppo F9 Pro comes with a similar 6.3-inch FHD+ (1080×2340 pixels) display. The display is similar to Vivo V11 Pro as it also has the same waterdrop notch and similar minimum bezels with 19.5:9 ratio. However, Oppo’s display has new Gorilla Glass 6 protection. Overall, Vivo’s display is better because of the AMOLED panel.

Cameras: Could be a tie

Coming to the cameras which always have been the highlights of Oppo and Vivo phones and this time again, they don’t disappoint with their results. The rear camera on V11 Pro gets a 12+5MP setup. The primary 12 MP sensor with f/1.8 aperture comes with dual pixel PDAF and the secondary 5 MP sensor with a f/2.4 aperture for depth. There is a 25MP, f/2.0 front camera with AI features, that also clicks good selfies.

Talking about the F9 Pro, the device sports a 16MP, f/1.8 primary camera with a 2MP depth sensor, PDAF, LED Flash and HDR mode. On the front, there is again a 25 MP, f/2.0 Selfie camera. Both of these phones come with the usual camera features like slo-mo, time lapse, AR stickers and more. They click good pictures justifying their price.

Hardware: Snapdragon 660 vs Helio P60

The Oppo F9 Pro comes with MediaTek Helio P20 octa-core processor with Mali G72 MP3 GPU and 6GB RAM. It has a 64GB storage option which is expandable to 256GB. Next, the Vivo V11 Pro is powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 660 AIE chipset with Adreno 512 GPU, 6GB RAM, and 64GB storage that is expandable up to 256 GB. Both the phones support dedicated microSD card slot.

Both the phones perform well in everyday moderate usage. They even handle heavy games like PUBG and Asphalt 9 very well. However, the Vivo V11 Pro has an edge over the F9 Pro as the Snapdragon 660 is more reliable chipset than the Helio P60.

Software and battery

When it comes to software, Oppo F9 Pro comes with the latest Android Oreo 8.1 with Oppo’s proprietary Color OS 5.2 on top. On the other hand, Vivo V11 Pro also runs the latest Android Oreo 8.1 with Vivo Funtouch OS 4.5.

Talking about the battery, the Oppo F9 Pro comes with a massive 3,500mAh battery with its new Super VOOC Flash Charge support. While the Vivo V11 Pro is packed with a 3,400mAh battery and it also comes with a fast charging tech that Vivo calls Dual Engine fast charging.

Price, Launch offers

The Oppo F9 Pro price in India is set at Rs. 23,990 for the only 6GB RAM/64GB storage variant. If we talk about launch offers, Jio offers up to 3.2 additional data and worth Rs. 4,900 other benefits. The ICICI Bank customers can avail up to Rs. 2,000 cashback on credit card EMI transactions.

On the other hand, Vivo V11 Pro price in India is Rs. 25,990 for the only 6GB RAM+64GB storage variant. Talking about launch offers, Reliance Jio customers will get worth Rs. 4,050 benefits and HDFC Bank customers will get Rs. 2,000 cashback.

Verdict

Coming to the conclusion, the two popular mid-rangers have some common features, but in some areas, Vivo V11 Pro has an edge over F9 Pro. In terms of display and hardware, the Vivo has an upper hand over Oppo. But in terms of the camera, they both perform really well. Overall, if you are considering to buy any of these phones and extra Rs. 2000 are not an issue, then Vivo V11 Pro looks like a better option in this segment currently.
