Gionee announced their Gionee S6 in an event in January and they finally launched the phone in India on 5th February. They have priced the phone at a price of INR 19,999 in India. Gionee S6 Unboxing
The box in which the Gionee S6 comes is a rectangular white box, which has the Gionee Branding on the top, along with a picture of the S6. On the back of the box, you’ll find the key specifications and the details about this specific unit such as manufacturing date, IMEI number and the price along with a few other details.
After opening the box, you find the phone laying on the top, along with the S6 branding for the phone. After removing the compartment divider, you dive into the 2nd compartment where all the goodies that come with the box are placed.

Inside the box, you’ll find a USB Type-C cable, a wall charger and a pair of headphones laid out in front of you. After diving even deeper, you’ll find a Clear Transparent Case for the Gionee S6 along with a screen protector for the device, SIM ejector tool and the user manual with warranty information.
It is nice of Gionee to include the screen protector and the Transparent cover for the device. The transparent cover adds a little bit of extra grip to the phone, whereas the screen protector will prevent the phone’s display from getting scratched.

The front of the Gionee S6 sports the big bright display along with a camera on the top and the LED notification light.
Coming to the back, you’ll find the camera module along with an LED Flash and a secondary microphone for noise cancellation. Apart from that, you’ll just find the Gionee branding.
On the top of the device, you’ll find the headphone jack and at the bottom you’ll find the USB Type-C port for charging and data sync.
On the right edge, you’ll find the power button and the volume rocker, all made up of metal, with a nice tactile feedback. On the left edge, you’ll find the SIM card tray, that can hold either 2 SIM cards or 1 SIM card and 1 microSD card.

The Gionee S6 is powered by a 1.3GHz Octa-core MediaTek MT6753 processor, coupled with 3GB of RAM. On the graphics side, the phone features a Mali T-720 GPU. During testing,we played Mortal Combat 5 and Dead Trigger 2 on the device. While playing both the games, the device performed really well, and did not show any signs of lagging or slowing down. From the looks as it seems, the Gionee S6 is a device that is good to use and has a great user experience. The benchmark scores are okay, but would have been good to see some better benchmarks.
