As Snapdeal had teased last week, Infocus has announced the launch of a new smartphone called Infocus M2 in India. The entry level smartphone with standard specifications is priced at Rs 4,999. The device running on Android 4.4 KitKat is available exclusively via Snapdeal. Here is a quick review on the same for your reference.
Camera and Internal Storage
Infocus M2 comes with an 8 MP primary rear camera teamed up with auto focus, LED flash, 5P Lens and f/2.2 aperture for an enhanced low light performance. Also, there is an auto focus 8 MP front facer onboard that is backed by f/2.2 aperture and LED flash as well to click gorgeous low light self portrait shots and make impressive video calls. The snapper is one of best and very few selfie focused smartphones available in the sub Rs 5,000 price bracket making it stand ahead of the competition.
Infocus M2 bundles 8 GB of internal storage space that is impressive and this can be expanded by another 64 GB using a micro SD card. As of now, there is no information regarding the available user memory, but the storage department is satisfactory for the pricing of the device.
Processor and Battery
Processor used in the Infocus offering is the common quad core MediaTek MT6582 chipset ticking at 1.3 GHz clock speed. This is a standard processor that is used in many such smartphones and we know its capabilities pretty well. This tested processor is teamed up with 1 GB of RAM for moderate multitasking.
Battery capacity is 2,010 mAh that is much better than the average batteries used in such devices that arrive with lesser capacities. But, the major downside is that it is a non-removable battery.
Display and Other Features
The Infocus M2 comes with a 4.2 inch LTPS display with a resolution of 1280×768 pixels that translates to an impressive pixel density of 355 pixels per inch. This screen is much better than several smartphones that are priced higher as well in terms of pixel count.
The handset is running Android 4.4 KitKat is packed with connectivity aspects such as dual SIM, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0 and GPS.

Price and Conclusion
The Infocus M2 smartphone is a decent offering in the sub Rs 5,000 price bracket. The device is design in US and it is manufactured by the well known Foxconn. It takes advantage of several aspects and loses only in the non-removable nature of the battery. The other issue is that we need to check out on the after sales service support as the device is exclusive to Snapdeal.
