Camera and Internal Storage

The primary camera unit on the Intex Aqua Power HD is a 13 MP camera that is coupled with LED flash for better low light photography. Along with rear snapper, there is a front facing 5 MP selfie shooter that that can take care of video conferencing and clicking gorgeous self portrait shots. At this pricing, there are not many smartphones that arrive with such high end aspects and hence, this is a better phone on the imaging front. But, the quality of the snappers has to be analyzed in detail.

The internal storage is pretty decent at 16 GB and this can be extended up to 32 GB using a micro SD card. These days, manufacturers launching offerings in this price bracket are gradually drifting away from 8 GB to 16 GB of storage capacity to make sure consumers have enough storage space on their device.

Processor and Battery

The chipset used is an octa core MediaTek MT6592M SoC ticking at 1.4 GHz clock speed. This processor is paired with 2 GB of RAM that should suffice in delivering decent performance and multi-tasking experience. Moreover, many smartphones in this price range arrive with similar hardware aspects.

Battery capacity of the Intex Aqua Power HD is impressive at 4,000 mAh and it can definitely pump in a decent backup to the handset as there are impressive specs onboard.

Display and Features

Intex has given the smartphone a 5 inch OnCell IPS display that carries a HD resolution of 1280×720 pixels. It appears like this display is pretty moderate for the pricing that the device asks with a usable pixel density of 294 pixels per inch that should be adequate enough for the usual tasks.

The device runs on Android 4.4 KitKat operating system and Intex has assured to rollout the Android 5.0 Lollipop update sometime in future. There are connectivity options such as 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS and dual SIM functionality. The Aqua Power HD is packed with features such as Auto Call Record, FM recording, OTG Support, smart gesture, Voice Capture and more and applications such as Ask Me, Opera mini, OLX, Newshunt, Quickoffice and more.

  1. This phone is really nothing much..unknowingly people seem to go all gaga over a phone stitched together with 2013 components..A phone in 2015 should have had a MT 6752 octacore and not battery eater MT 6592..No wonder Intex gave this 4000 mah battery to help it last 1 whole day..probably this is excess stock from Shenzhen rebranded by Intex..Because of MT 6592..It will certainlyhave no GPS lock..and poor wifi..

    • What you expect at 10000? There are far better phones with far better features costing over 30000 onwards. Do not forget that profit is the ultimate aim of every business, it is foolhardy to provide 50000 phone features to a 10000 phone, then the company will loose both elite and cheap phone markets.

  2. Bismillah.

    Over all good phone

    I bought it on 20 Feb 15 @ 9700/-

    In Pune
(There is shortage in the Market so Dealer charged me more)

You can get it at good price at Amana Mobile M,G road Pune
also…(for other cities please surf yourself)

One SIM slot is Micro GSM and 2nd is normal GSM (3g can be
switched on both SIMs in settings without changing SIM physically: NICE
    FEATURE)

When I Switched it on, it took around 1-2 minutes for first boot

    first time, icon and
theme was awful but mobile showed updates available,

so I took first 5mb update, and again it showed updates
available so I updated it again (12MB) and Alhamdulillah it automatically got
normal Kitkat icons and themes from those updates.

Now I am waiting for Lollipop upgrade.

    Pros:

    SPEED:

It has 1.4 Octa core CPU with MT6592 chipset with 2GB ram

    Which is good for Gaming…

    SCREEN

Nice screen better than Aqua power, Touch response is good
only menu/back/option button require a bit more sensitivity,

It Plays HD videos Smoothly without any problem..

(Not very sharp like Lenovo s650 or s660 and Samsung
Mobiles but better than Lava Alfa, and similar to Micromax mobiles)

    CAMERA:

    Intex
Lies about its Cameras (Rear 13mp and Front 5Mp)

    Actually
it’s only 4-5 Mp rear and 1.3-2Mp Front Camera

    MEMORY:
2 GB ram and 16 internal (11.9 GB user available)

    SOUND:

A bit loud and good, for nice quality use it till 70-80%

    CONNECTIVITY:

    It
    is 3G, 2g, enabled (NO! IT DOESN’T HAVE 4G!)

Mobile network connectivity is nice I found no problem in
    it…

    WIFI

    Is good
for internet use but while transferring huge files(>100MB)

like Movies etc from pc to Mobile (using Airdroid or similar) it
shows some % of file copied and getS error, I tried a lot but no solution so
used cable and got nice copy speed (>10MBps)

MOBILE to MOBILE WIFI transfer speed is from 325kbps to 5MBps,
average comes around 1MBPS (using Shareit) which is 10 times less than my old
    S650 phone

    Bluetooth:
    got <= 200kbps speed

    SOFTWARE:

    Running
KITKAT and I read on many sites it will get Lollipop

    HARDWARE:

    Nice
and More than Average Quality, like Macromax, and Spice…

    Weight
is a bit more than 2000mah Samsung or Micromax phones, but not unbearable as
Gionee M2 or M3.. so I don’t have any problem with its weight

    But it’s
better to cover it with Flip cover as dropping it will surely break its Screen

    SENSORS:

    It has
    light, proximity sensors

    It doesn’t
have compass sensors (North Pole sensor) though it has

    App called
Compass but it show every direction as North….

    GPS:

    Good
reception of GPS…Locks location in 30-45 Sec.

    BATTERY:

    Great
    its 4000mah battery is awesome

    This is
the reason I choose to buy it

    2 days
(48hrs) battery backup with heavy use

    CONS:

    Its
Camera is not good…. Micromax mobile of 5MP camera gives better picture than
    its front 13MP cam

    Do
world tour but you will not get Its Accessories like Flip Cover and all…(I had
to manage with similar flip cover)

    MY
    OPINION:

    Why
    to Buy?

    Buy
it without hesitation if you use phone for Gaming, Team viewer, web surfing, Driving
(GPS Navigation) etc. and IF you can compromise with Camera, because it has Great
Battery, nice Screen, Octa core CPU and Great RAM. And you will get Lollipop
with it all this around only @9500/- not other phone is matching for same
    feature and price

    And
no use of investing more than 10k in mobile as we don’t get good returns, and
versions (Hardware and Software) keep upgrading these days leaving INR 15000/-
Mobile to sell at 7500 after some months only/-(same thing happened with my
    last Lenovo s650)

    Indians
should promote and buy Indian products…

    Why
    not to Buy?

    Go
for Micomax phone if you can MANAGE whole day with 2000mah battery (and Carry
    POWER BANK (yaak))

    Lenovo
P70 is coming but at around 12K to 15K (Approx) price (wait for some days if
you think you can pay 2K to 4K more only for Camera and BRAND name Lenovo or Similar

    • Great Review. I bought it around 1 month back and I am loving it. It has all the features and a lot more than I require. Battery is GREAT!!! One tip: Get at least 50% more backup by using plain G (not 3G) as network mode for your voice (calling) SIM.
People review speaker loudness as ‘loud like those cheap China mobiles’, but tell me who doesn’t need a ringtone audible in the next room? We hear music using headphones anyway… You’re right about physical back, home and menu key sensitivity or rather lack of it.
One more exercise for those spec connoisseurs: Why you compare it’s specs with the sets costing 20k+? Moreover, just write down what this set doesn’t have and what those big ticket sets have. Look at the extra price you pay for features you hardly ever seriously use. Got my point? One more thing which is not mentioned… Absolutely no heating issue… I recommend…just go for it….

      • I agree..nice

        But 1bad thing happend
Intex said to me “Its not upgradeable to Lollipop”

        Its cheating from Intex
It was said on many sited that it will get Lollipop which was our one of the main reasons to buy it right?

  3. Yes
in this budget it is number one phone
    good looking with golden line
1.23 gb avaible for Apps but dont worry some of them is moveble to phone
stroge (11.90 GB avaible out of 16 gb)
bettary is so capable i ecperience it
13 MP camara is ok you cant expect more you can comare it with Lg , Sony ,samsung 5MP, When you zoom it pixlize.
    Display clearity is very good
but Inbult Apps symbol is looking same so it confused
One micro sim ,and one normal sim
    Speaker sound is so high
    sofwere update optionis
One small light is on front of mobile near sensor
is blink on misscall, sms, while charging
one power switch is there for screen on then unlock
company giving decent back cover free in box
    i really satisfied with intex
