Kingston Data Traveler Workspace 64GB Review, Features and Data Speeds

Kingston Datatraveler 64 GB drive is certified for windows to Go. It can be used use with Windows® To Go1, a feature of Windows 8 or 8.1 Enterprise2. Kingston’s DataTraveler Workspace for Windows To Go is a fully manageable corporate Windows 8 workspace on configured, bootable USB drive. It can allow IT administrators to easily support such work styles as “bring your own PC,” who need access to the corporate environment without security compromise. This USB 3.0 drive incorporates SSD controller technology to produce a high-performance, low-latency drive.

Requirements

You need a pc or laptop with 1GHz processor, 2GB RAM, DX9 capable video card and USB 2.0 port but yes its backward compatibility but you wont be able use it on full data read and write speed as on a USB 2.0 port the speed of the drive will be limited to 25-30 MB/S

Build Quality and Form Factor

Its made up of good quality of plastic casing with slight use of aluminum. On the other hand it uses a capped design which may not be an issue if its going to be plugged most of the times or else carrying the cap can be task at times if you happen to forget it.

Storage, Performance and Verdict

The formatted capacity of the 64GB Workspace is 59.6GB in Windows. It comes preformatted from Kingston with the NTFS file system, we would like to say that for office use this is one of best drive you can buy and you can have windows running from the drive itself or in case you want to use for data transfer it will provide you great read and write speed. One thing which we did not liked much was its conventional design which makes it looks like an old flash drive but its actually much more than a regular flash drive.
