Camera and internal storage

The primary camera auto focus camera has 5 MP sensor. What is missing is LED flash and perhaps auto focus. If you are looking for a more detailed camera in this price range, several domestic players will offer you a 8 MP shooter in this price range. It won’t be wise to expect much from the front 1.3 MP shooter as well.

The internal storage is standard 4 GB and can be further extended by another 32 GB using microSD support. The internal storage is following the same ubiquitous trend in this price range.

Processor and Battery

Processor employed is low cost mediatek MT6582 chipset, which is trending these days and is fast replacing MT6589 series. The processor is expected to give good performance and is aided by Mali 400 MP2 GPU and 1 GB RAM which is not so common in this price range.

The battery capacity is2000 mAh which is above average, Lenovo has not specified how much back up you can extract from this battery, but the rating is above average considering the competition

Display and Other Features

The 4.5 inch display features FWVGA 854 X 480 pixels resolution which is not particularly stunning but is pretty usable considering the price range. The pixel density is 217 pixels per inches which implies that your texts will be soft but you won’t notice pixelation on the 4.5 inch display.

Software used is Android 4.2 jelly bean, which seems dated now. Lenovo and other manufacturers should now provide Android Kitkat on budget hardware because its optimized to perform well on less hardware resources.

Comparison

Lenovo A526 will primarily compete with phones like Gionee M2, Micromax Canvas Power A96, Moto G and Micromax Canvas Turbo Mini most of which are priced in the vicinity of 10,000 INR.
