Micromax has today officially launched the next smartphone in it’s Doodle series, the Doodle 4 Q391, with a signature large sized display and other modest hardware to limit the best buy price to 9,499 INR. The handset has been designed to cater to offline market and thus, doesn’t even try to compete with flashy online exclusives available on ecommerce stores. Let’s take a look at Doodle 4 hardware.
Camera and Internal Storage
The rear auto focus camera has an 8 MP sensor and LED flash, while on the front side, there is just a 2 MP shooter for selfies. The imaging hardware is an improvement over Doodle 3, but is still very basic when compared to phones like Yuphoria and Redmi Note.

Processor and Battery
The processor used is 1.3 GHz MT6582M quad core, which was a budget star last year, but feels dates in modern setup. The chipset is aided with 1 GB RAM, which puts the total horsepower at par with Android One phones or any of the numerous devices we saw last year. For basic usage, the chipset will suffice.
Battery capacity is 3000 mAh, which is again moderate considering the display size and processor at play. Micromax hasn’t yet talked about backup you could squeeze out of Doodle 4 battery.
Display and Other Features
The Doodle 4 has a 6 inch display with quarter HD resolution (960 x 540) spread across it. The resolution will aid the chipset ticking inside, but again won’t be dazzling on the mammoth size. Most recent launched settle for 5.5 Inch display size, and yet we regularly come across users asking for a 6 inch smartphone at budget price. This will be Doodle 4’s unique selling point.
This time there is no stylus to doodle on the large display. Software is Android 5.0 Lollipop with light customizations and preloaded apps like App center, Chaatz, Clean Master, Evernote, Hotstar, Housing, Mannons, Newshunt, Quickr, Skitch Snapdeal and more.
