At the Samsung Forum 2015, the South Korean tech giant has announced several smartphones including the Galaxy Grand Prime 4G. As the name suggests, this model comes with 4G LTE connectivity for super fast internet access. As of now, the pricing of the device is not known, but it is likely to be released in March 2015. Let’s take a look at the quick review of the Samsung Galaxy Grand Prime 4G to know about its capabilities.
Camera and Internal Storage
The Samsung Galaxy Grand Prime 4G comes with an 8 MP main camera unit at its back that is supplemented with auto focus and LED flash. Also, this snapper supports recording Full HD 1080p videos. Also, there is a 5 MP front facing selfie snapper for clicking self portrait shots and for video conferencing. This makes the smartphone a decent device when it comes to imaging and hence, it can compete with the other devices in the segment.
Storage wise, the Grand Prime 4G comes packed with a standard 8 GB native storage capacity that can be expanded further by another 64 GB with the help of a micro SD card. There are much better offerings in the segment with enhanced storage capacities onboard.
Processor and Battery
In terms of hardware, the Samsung Galaxy Grand Prime 4G is equipped with a 1.2 GHz Snapdragon 410 quad core processor that is backed by 1 GB of RAM. This processor is found on many mid range smartphones that are available in the market and hence, its capabilities are known.
The battery operating under the hood of the Samsung phone is a 2,600 mAh unit. Though Samsung has not revealed the backup rendered by this battery, the unit is expected to provide a moderate life under mixed usage.
Display and Features
The display used in the Galaxy Grand Prime 4G is a 5 inch qHD panel that packs in 960×540 pixels. This screen is pretty decent enough for a mid-range smartphone, but it can render impressive performance for the usual tasks.
Other features of the device include connectivity aspects such as dual SIM functionality and 4G LTE. Also, the device is based on Android 4.4 KitKat operating system. The other aspects of the device include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS and NFC.
