Samsung recently launched a new variant of its budget smartphone Samsung Galaxy J2. Now, the company has come up with another budget phone called the Samsung Galaxy On5 Pro. It is an upgraded version of the earlier launched Galaxy On5. It comes with 5 inch display, 1.3 GHz octa-core processor, 2 GB RAM, 16 GB internal storage, 8 MP rear camera and a decent 2600 mAh battery among others. We unboxed the device, let us see what comes inside.

Unboxing
The phone comes packed in a compact rectangular box with refreshing color and the picture of the phone on the top. The box is just a little bigger in size than the phone, so it is quite handy. To complete the decoration there is a 4G batch on the top.

Physical Overview
The build quality and design of Samsung Galaxy On5 Pro is pretty similar to the earlier Galaxy On5 which means it is quite ordinary. The phone has good finishing but the material used is not very appealing. The sides does not have anything special, but they look fine. At the back it has a thin plastic cover with faux leather texture on it for better grip.
Samsung Galaxy On5 Pro comes with a 5 inch display again like the earlier variant. Its dimensions are 142.3 x 72.1 x 8.5 mm and it weighs around 148 grams. With these dimensions and weight, the phone is becomes very handy.

Display
Samsung Galaxy On5 Pro comes with a 5 inch TFT display exactly similar to the earlier variant. It comes with a screen resolution of 1280 X 720 pixels and pixel density of 288 ppi. The display has decent viewing angles and the color reproduction is good. Overall the display is quite average for the price, moreover, it does not have adaptive brightness, so you will have to adjust it manually every time. The only good thing about the display is the outdoor mode that boosts display brightness.
Camera Overview
Samsung Galaxy On5 pro has a 8 MP rear camera with LED flash, autofocus and f/2.2 aperture. It also features touch focus, face detection and Geo-tagging. It can record Full HD (1080p) videos at the rate of 30 frames per second. On the front it is equipped with a 5 MP shooter with f/2.2 aperture. Overall the camera is also similar to the earlier variant and it is quite decent.
Gaming Performance
I didn’t try a lot of games on this phone but I did play some light weight 3D games like Dead Trigger 2 on this. My experience was not something I expected from a 9K phone from Samsung. I noticed glitches straight from the beginning and the game felt irritating. Although the display was doing its part but the performance was not up to the mark. Any one who likes gaming is advised not to go for this phone.
I experience mild heating and a battery drop of 8% after 27 minutes of gaming. The game I played was Dead Trigger 2, which is not one of the demanding games.

Conclusion
Samsung Galaxy On5 Pro has Samsung branding, Handy design, latest operating system, good user interface, nice camera, reasonable battery life and S bike mode. On the other hand, it comes with the same old design, lower performance and limited sensors. Overall, Samsung Galaxy On5 pro has nothing very special to offer in this price segment, but its brand name makes the phone reasonable for the price.
