Market flooding with 13MP devices around 15k range like Micromax Canvas 4, ZOPO ZP980, this is a little less than what is expected of a Flagship phone. Major brand names are not taking their Flagship device cameras lightly either. Samsung Galaxy S4 has a 13 MP primary Camera with image stabilization. HTC ONE has its Ultra pixel camera with OIS. Nokia Lumia 1020 which is expected to come to India sports a magnificent 41 MP camera.

As far as internal storage goes, 2GB RAM capacity will ensure that you won’t get any lag and your User Interface won’t appear sluggish even while multitasking. The internal storage memory is 16GB which will suffice for most users, for remaining others it can be extended to 64 GB using microSD card support.

Processor and Battery

This Phone is the first phone to employ Quad core MSM8274 Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor clocked at a frequency of 2.2 GHz. This is a faster and more efficient processor than what other rivals are offering. Lenovo X910 is rumored to bring this processor in India but this won’t happen anytime soon. You can engage in Graphic intensive gaming without experiencing any lag on this device. on the software front this device comes with Android 4.2 jelly bean Operating System.

The Battery backup is also in line with what is expected with a high-end premium device. The battery capacity is 3050 mAh. It is a li-ion battery which will provide you with Talk time of up to 16 hours on 2G and 14 Hrs on 3G and a standby time of up to 820 hrs. The mammoth display size will suck up the battery power when you play FHD videos, thus it is a necessity to provide a powerful backup in this phone. Sony has not disappointed us in this area.

Display and Other features

Xperial Z Ultra has a unique display size of 6.44 inch. The 10 finger multi touch display hosts a Full HD resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. This gives you pixel density of 344 ppi (iPhone 5 has 326 ppi). This high pixel density on a TRILUMINUS screen will give you crisp texts. TRILUMINOUS technology works to improve color saturation in selected areas. X reality engine present in Xperia Ultra z fills in pixels in standard definition pics so that they don’t appear blurred on relatively big screen of this phone. Display looks pretty good on paper but does it all really works? We will find out soon enough.

This will be a good advantage for people living in rain prone areas and those who must use their phones under extreme conditions. The display glass is shatter proof and scratch resistant. It weighs 212 grams and is 6.5 mm thick.Other connectivity features include GPRS, EDGE, WiFi, WiFi hotspot, Wifi direct, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC and microUSB.

Comparison

With a 6.44 Inch Display size and 2.2 GHz quad core snapdragon 800 processor this device stands pretty much alone in its category. Let’s compare it on the basis of its price range to other flagship phones. This device outperforms LG Optimus G pro (42,500 INR) as far as chipset specifications are concerned, But has a poorer camera. HTC ONE (41,300 INR) though has lesser Mp count with 4 MP camera but the Ultrapixel and OIS technology makes it far superior. Samsung Galaxy S4 (39,000 INR) has a much smaller screen size of 5 Inch and comes with Exynos 5 Octa chipset. This device too features a better 13 MP camera and comparable chipset as far as performance is concerned.
