Build Quality, Design and Form Factor

The build quality of Spice Mi-525 Pinnacle FHD is a not too good as it feels like another plastic phone but considering its price it seems a better in look and feel compared to other phones, the shiny chrome lining on the edge does give the device a premium look. The design is good may not be the best of unique but the overall form factor of this phone is good with rounded edges it feels easy to hold this device in one hand. The form factor is comparable to the any other smartphone with 5 Inch display, it weigh around 175 grams which is little lighter than some of its competitors and the device thickness is 9.3 mm which makes not too thick that I cant fit into your pocket.

Camera Performance

IMG_0102

The rear camera is a 8MP and the daylight performance is pretty good where as the low light performance is quite average for this device. The front camera is 2 MP fixed focus but capable of doing good quality video chat or call, check out some camera samples below.

Display, Memory and Battery Backup

The display on this device is Full HD with 1080 x 1920 pixels spread over 5.0 inches with 441 ppi pixel density and the clarity of the display is good with good wide viewing angles. The in built memory of the device is around 8 GB with approx 5.33 Gb available to the user and it has the option of expanding the memory with MicroSD card slot as well and you can also select default write disk as SD card. The battery backup is good if not the best the overall backup we got with moderate usage is around 1 day most of time during our two weeks review.

Software, Benchmarks and Gaming

The software UI is almost stock android with little customizations on top of android which we could notice, the gaming performance is good but again you might experience some graphic glitch while playing some graphic intensive games like Nova 3 and Front Line Command D Day etc. The benchmark scores are give below.

Benchmark Scores

  • Quadrant Standard Edition: 4782
  • Antutu Benchmark: 15085
  • Nenamark2:  34.1 fps
  • Multi Touch:  5 point

Sound, Video and Navigation

The sound quality from the ear piece is good if not the best, the sound from the ear phone average but the loudspeaker is pretty loud on this device and you can confirm the same by watching the video review we have done for this device. The device is capable of playing HD videos at 720p and 1080p without any audio video lag. This device can also be used for GPS navigation and but it might take little more time for GPS locking as it works on the basis of assisted GPS.

Spice Mi-525 Pinnacle FHD Full In Depth Review + Unboxing [Video]

Conclusion and Price

Spice Pinnacle FHD is a great device with decent hardware and quite good form factor and great Full HD display and it comes for a price of Rs. 13990 but it might lag at times when you play some high end graphic intensive games, but on the other hand it’s a good value for money device as per the hardware which you are getting at this price point and one more thing some of the users reported charging problem for this device but we did not faced anything on the unit we reviewed.

      • Hi, I am Having Spice MI-525. Today i was trying to connect Sony Flash Drive of 16GB with it. Also downloaded sony file manager. but still the phone is not detecting that Flash Drive.

        Can you help me out?

  1. The phone is pretty good to use besides the laggy menu and a pretty average low light imaging..but overall the device is working really good for me 😉

    • we have tested the phone and reviewed it and we have found OTG working on the phone. I cannot comment on what info they put on their website.

      • Dear Abhishek,

I have pinnacle fhd (mi-525) but this device is not connect to OTG please help me…

How to connect OTG cable this phone???

        Thanks in Advance

  2. Dear sir,
I am following your website since last 2 years, u r doing a great job.I want to
purchase a new mobile in Diwali. This would be my first android mobile. My budget is 12-16k.I have
    shortlisted follo.with preferences.
    1.Spice MI-525(FHD) getting around 13500.(Though without review)
2.Gionee Elife E3 (not sure about brand & service in my areas i.e.Kolhapur-Maharashtra).
3.Lemon Aspire A4(Full HD Phone at Rs.13500 but same problem as above)&
4.lAST ONE lava Iris 504Q. What would be ur choice among above or is there any alternate choice
apart from these.Or shall I wait for few more days till launch of Canvas 5/Zens new ultraphone
and more to come in this festive season.
My main requirement is good screen quality,Camera & after sales service which should last for
atleast one & half year since I am investing my hardly earned money. I can strech my budget upto
    18k.
    thanks in advance.
    Mangesh.

    • You can select either Gionee Elife E3 or Spice Mi 525 – with both of these phones you will get better after sales support compared to the other two.

    • If the Ui is lagging, then you can go for any third party launcher like Nova Launcher, it will help you to reduce it to a great extent.

  3. Someone says proximity sensor not working properly and while charging screen flicker but for me its working fine.

    • If its working fine for you, for those who see the screen flikr while charging, please check the cable connection and charger if they are properly adjusted and they should be lose.

  4. Sir,
As compared to Iris504Q & Gionee E3, Spice mi-525 has FHD , 8 GB inbuilt memory & Turbo processor as other specs.are almost same. Would u prefer the same one against the others. Pl. reply. Also compare with Zen FHD & Canvas Magnus. Many of the followers would like to ask the same.
    Mangesh.

  5. hey sir i am confused on buying this phone..as i want to play high end games like modern combat 4 , nova 3.. As some say that out of the 8gb internal memory 5.3 is user accessable and to install apps it provides only 1gb .. But mk4 and nova 3 are more than 1gb … Can i install high end games with large files directly to the external memory card… ?? Is it possoble..??? Please reaply.. Pease..

  6. which is better canvas magnus or Spice Mi-525 Pinnacle FHD.(w.r.t. performance in gaming and gps).
list out the sensors present in pinnacle.

    • Canvas Magnus is a better option, but looks like canvas magnus does not have magnetic sensor but still the GPS navigation will work on the phone.

    • If it is restarting every now and then, we suggest you to get your device checked at the service center. This thing did not happen with the device we reviewed.

  7. Dear Abhishek,

I had got information from smartprix that this mobile is avble at 9999/-. is it better choice at this price?. ans also I would like to know about micromax canvas juice a77.

    Thanks in advance
    Rejanish

  8. Hi Abhishek…Hope you are doing great and wish you a happy new year…

Eve I too bought this mobile for 9649rs from HS18 and the good thing is 600rs worth spice branded flip cover..free with it

The phone looks for this price awesome and very good value for money….I am not a game lover ..so its good for me…but you mentioned in your review it may lags….i can see 650mb ram consuming for preinstalled apps and 300mb only free out of 1gb ram….my question if i force stop or disable some preinstalled apps will this effect working nature of the mobile?

Thanks in advance for your reply,
    muni
