Build Quality, Design and Form Factor

This device really has a very good build quality as I could see the phone is made of most of the metal or alloy parts which actually makes it really strong to resist drops and falls but on the other also make the device little heavier at 193 grams, the design of the device is good and looks different from the other phones which comes in the same price bracket. Another good thing about this phone is that it offers a little larger display size at 5.3 which feels slightly bigger to hold in one hand and it has limited one handed usage but still you will get use it to the display size.

Display, Memory and Battery Backup

The display is 5.3 inch IPS capacitive has good viewing angles and display is vibrant enough, the in built memory is larger and it gives you around 12 GB approx in the device for installing apps and storing picture videos and other data, you also have the microSD memory card support to expand the storage of the device. The battery backup is around one day with moderate usage.

Software, Benchmarks and Gaming

The software UI is stock android, there is no customization but you will see some extra apps pre installed on the device for multimedia and entertainment which gives you some value of the money you have invested in this device. The gaming performance of the device is good and the benchmarks scores are given below. Benchmark Scores

  • Quadrant Standard Edition: 3951
  • Antutu Benchmark: 13398
  • Nenamark2: 50.9
  • Multi Touch:  5 point

Camera Performance

The rear camera is 8MP shooter which performed quite good in day light and front camera is 5 MP can support HD video chat Camera Samples

Sound, Video and Navigation

The sound quality is good and loud enough from the loud speaker. It can also play HD videos at 720p and 1080p without any audio and video sync issues. Although this device does not have the magnetic sensor but you can use navigation with the help of assisted GPS but GPS locking will take some amount of time, we will soon do a video on the same.

  1. i’m tied b/w Lenovo S920 & S720, but now your review of Spice Pinnacle throws me another option. Question is, How’s Spice’s Product quality(charging socket,3.5mm pin socket etc) & After-sales , as i haven’t been too happy with these in the Karbonn & Micromax products i have used. Thanks

    • after sales is strong as compared to other players, product quality is good and build quality is also better on spice mi 535 comparing it with other phones in the same price segment.

      • Hi. I did finally buy the MI 550 pinnacle Stylus , as i found it had nice features.
However, after-sales is disappointing. The set was having display issues, but i could not get
it replaced as they have a 7 -day return period only (from date of purchase).
Service centers are not too many, and far from my place (Dwarka, New delhi), hence by the time i did manage to go to one, they said the 7 days were over, so too bad.
so i’m stuck with a faulty phone which they will only repair, under the 1 year warranty clause.
So i’m advising all to go for Nokia or samsung, at least they have more efficient system.

  2. Thanks for the prompt reply.
I guess i’ll go for this instead of the Lenovo or Samsung stuff,
‘n save some money too. 🙂

  3. i am really confused to choose from spice mi 535 & lava iris 504q.. i am tilted towards spice mi 535.. but dont know whether the qHD display of spice mi 535 is a deal breaker.. plzzzzz help me out..

    • Yes this phoen is brown in terms of the color of the body, you might be able to get it more colors check the retailer for the same.

    • we dont have the device with us now, but yes the phone will take some time to lock the gps coordinates initially but once its locks gps you can use it for navigation. Please note it might require internet connection to lock the gps coordinates.

      • hello sir,
this device does have a manetic sensor for compass and precise navigation(you have written it does not have)..there is no problem in gps locking..it locks in seconds..
generally a device with compass/magnetic sensor will have better results in gps.

    • as its not True GPS but assisted GPS which uses network resources (like Cellular towers and some internet on 3G) to locate and use the satellites in poor signal conditions. In very poor signal conditions, for example in a city, these signals may suffer multipath propagation where signals bounce off buildings, or are weakened by passing through atmospheric conditions, walls, or tree cover. When first turned on in these conditions, some standalone GPS navigation devices may not be able to fix a position due to the fragmentary signal, rendering them unable to function until a clearer signal can be received continuously for a long enough period of time. A fix may take as long as 12.5 minutes (the time needed to download the GPS almanac and ephemeris).

  4. Well!!That was enlightening!!!!
I am planning to purchase this device which is available at 13k…….
Is it the best choice at this price segment(HD screen doesnt matter to me)????

  5. I AM PLANNING TO BYU THIS MOBILE AND MY REQUIRMENT IS ONLY FAST INTERNET SPEED AND GOOD BATTERY BACKUP THATS IT…SO PLS SUGGEST DOES IT SUPPORT H+ IN 3G? OR HOW IS BATTERY BACKUP ?

    • Yes, it does support 3G and speed is good enough and it depenps more the cellular network and your location, battery backup is around 1 day with moderate usage.

  6. One review i saw said that i has a mt6589m processor and cannot record or play 1080p videos , can u please tell me whether this has mt6589m or mt6589 processor ? , and does the display feel disappointing ,?

    • yes it has MT6589m chipset and it cannot record HD videos at 1080p but can do on 720p with 30 fps. The display is ok, if not the best in terms of color reproduction, viewing angles and pixel clarity.

  7. K thanku for your reply and can u suggest me a phone in under 11,000 which has mt6589 processor and can do 1080p encoding and decoding, I would be glad if u can .

  8. is there any other problems in this device and i read 1 comment in other websites like when we take photos in night mode it will shut down directly , i dont know but it will happen in spice mi 535

    • its ok to buy from Homeshop 18, if the price is same at Flipkart you can choose flipkart because they have 30 day return policy

  9. I want to purchase Spice Mi-535 Stellar Pinnacle Pro, but after seeing reviews about the battery life by the users in other sites, I am bit confused. Kindly suggest me whether I should go for this product or any other around Rs.12000/- range?
    Thank You.

    • you could safely opt for Moto G if it suits your purpose. other options include Micromax Canvas Magnus, Xolo Q1100

  10. i m a bit confused between xolo q3000 and Spice Mi-535 Stellar Pinnacle
Pro regarding the features. Also recently someone told me about lenovo
p780. I love the features provided by spice mi535 and lenovo p780. But
xolo q3000 and lenovo p780 have more battery backup. also xolo q3000 has
less features which are there in spice mi535 and lenovo p780 but it has
more ram compared to both and also lenovo has less inbuilt memory (4
GB) compared spice mi 535 and xolo q3000. so please help me buying a
mobile . Also if you have some other options to tell please do so.
