TP-Link Touch P5 Unboxing, Features and Setup Guide

In a world of growing demands and transforming technology, we have seen devices that don’t have enough extra features to make a mark for them in the competition; products like TP-Link’s Touch P5 wireless router are a revitalizing take on the age old piece of technology.

Like most of the entries, the touch-screen that Touch P5 features is not a marketing gimmick but a very useful feature. It is used to perform the initial configuration procedures with its help but also access the main settings and customizations during operation. It also displays useful information like which Wi-Fi networks are running and the current mode (Router, Access Point or Repeater), time/date and the number of connected stations on the screen. We have unboxed the TP Link Touch P5 router and here is what we came up with.

Set Up

  • Install the antennas and position them vertically.
  • Turn off the modem; and remove the backup battery if it has one.
  • Connect the modem to the Internet port on the router via an Ethernet cable.
  • Turn on the modem and wait for about 2 minutes for it to restart.
  • Turn on the router and wait until the system boot on the screen is completed.

Price & Availability

The price on the box is INR 17,999 which is not bad for a router like this.

Verdict

TP-Link Touch P5 is one of its kind and the innovation has definitely made the router control a lot easier. The screen and the software have made the customization controls more handy and interactive. This is one of the best looking Wi-Fi router we have seen so far, and it can be used as a decor if kept anywhere around your home. We will test the router on daily basis and will find out what more does it has in terms of hardware upgrade.
