The Chinese tech firm ZTE announced the launch of Nubia X6 smartphone last week at an event held in Beijing. The device is gorgeous with its enormous display and aesthetics along with powerful and capable hardware. The Nubia X6 features a metallic body measuring 7.9 mm in thickness with very narrow bezels around the screen. The handset comes in two models – 32 GB variant with 2.3 GHz processor costing 2999 Yuan (approx. Rs 29,000) and 64 GB variant with 2.5 GHz processor priced at 3499 Yuan (approx. Rs 39,000). Camera and Internal Storage

The Nubia X6 is an impressive offering that arrives with two 13 MP cameras on board. These front and rear 13 MP cameras are different in terms of aperture. The front camera has an aperture of f/2.2 while the back sensor has f/2.0 aperture. Also, the camera at the rear gets dual LED flash and optical image stabilization for enhanced photography.

In terms of storage, the ZTE Nubia X6 comes in three variants – 32 GB, 64 GB and 128 GB of internal storage. Of these, the 32 GB and 64 GB options have 2 GB of RAM, whereas the 128 GB offering has 3 GB of RAM. The handset does not have a micro SD card slot to support memory expansion.

Processor and Battery

The ZTE Nubia X6 is equipped with a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 chipset that is clocked at 2.3 GHz MSM8974AB chipset or 2.5 GHz MSM8974AC chipset based on the variant coupled with Adreno 330 GPU. The chipset is one of the best out there and we will be seeing a lot more of it in high end smartphones in near future.

Delivering power to this phone is a 4,250 mAh battery claimed to provide sufficient juice for it to last for day without any hassle.

Display and Features

ZTE has given a massive 6.44 inch CGS (Continuous Grain Silicon) IPS display protected with Corning Gorilla Glass boasting a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels that is stunning. The handset features an average pixel density of 344 pixels per inch, which is pretty less than the pixel density of other high-end smartphones. Obviously, the display with IPS panel provides accurate colors and good viewing angles.

Running on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean, the ZTE Nubia X6 has connectivity features such as 4G, 3G, Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi, GPS/A-GPS, HDMI, NFC and USB 3.0 with OTG support. Also, there are three noise cancellation microphones for superior and clear audio quality.

Comparison

The ZTE Nubia X6 is a great smartphone with an excellent design and impressive specifications. The device is expected to be a stiff competitor to devices such as Sony Xperia Z Ultra, Sony Xperia Z2, Galaxy S5 and Oppo N1 and Oppo Find 7.

Conclusion

ZTE is highly reputed for its superior offerings, but it is quite a disgrace that the company’s offerings are not popular in other markets except China. The vendor has given the best specs for the Nubia X6 and it could be an amazing phone to capture selfies with an innovative 13 MP front camera. Nevertheless to say that the company should put in efforts to let out the handset in global markets including India at reasonable price tags to make a challenger to the existing phone.
