Xiaomi Redmi 4, Redmi 4 Prime And Redmi 4A Launched In China

Xiaomi has unveiled the successor of the Xiaomi Redmi 3 at an event in Beijing, China, dubbed as Redmi 4. It also launched the Prime edition of the device and the budget version, dubbed as the Xiaomi Redmi 4A.

The Redmi 4 and Redmi 4 Prime have been priced at CNY 699 (Rs. 6,900) and CNY 899 (Rs. 8,900). The Redmi 4A has been priced at CNY 499 (Rs. 4,900). The Redmi 4 and Redmi 4 Prime will go on sale on Monday and are currently up for pre-order.

The Redmi 4 and Redmi 4 Prime come with a similar design. Only the hardware is different. The device comes with a full metal unibody featured with 2.5D curved Glass. There is a fingerprint sensor below the primary camera.

The Xiaomi Redmi 4 runs on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow with MIUI 8 on top. The device features a 5 inch HD IPS LCD display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels.


The Xiaomi Redmi 4 is powered by an Octa-core 1.4 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 coupled with Adreno 505 GPU. The device comes with 2 GB RAM and 16 GB of internal storage which can be further expanded up to 256 GB via microSD card.

Coming to the camera department, the Redmi 4 features a 13 MP primary camera with f/2.2 aperture, phase detection autofocus and LED flash. On the front, the device sports a 5 MP secondary camera with f/2.2 aperture.

The Xiaomi Redmi 4 is powered by a 4,100 mAh battery with Fast Charge support. Connectivity options on the device include Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS, Infrared port, microUSB v2.0 and FM Radio.

It has been priced at CNY 699 and it will be available in China from November 7 in Gold, Dark Gray and Silver color options

The Xiaomi Redmi 4 Prime runs on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow with MIUI 8 on top. The device features a 5 inch full HD IPS LCD display with a resolution of 1080 x 1920 pixels.

The Xiaomi Redmi 4 Prime is powered by an Octa-core 2.0 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 coupled with Adreno 506 GPU. The device comes with 3 GB RAM and 32 GB of internal storage which can be further expanded up to 256 GB via microSD card.

The Xiaomi Redmi 4A is powered by an Octa-core 1.4 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 coupled with Adreno 308 GPU. The device comes with 2 GB RAM and 16 GB of internal storage which can be further expanded up to 256 GB via microSD card.
