7 Inch Coby Kyros Android Ice Cream Sandwich Tablet Hands on Review at CES 2013

American electronics manufacturer Coby releases budget Android tablets- Kyros MID 7065-8 . Coby conitunes its trend to introduce a low budget tablet phone and MID 7065-8 is one more additional to its low budget tablets. Coby’s new 7-inch MID7065 tablet runs Android 4.0.4 (Ice Cream Sandwich) and costs just $129.99, but the biggest news is that it’s also Google-certified, which means it has access to the Google Play app store.

Kyros MID 7065-8 is a 7 inch Tablet phone that comes with 1024*600 high resolution display where the screen is Capacitive Touch-screen display . This phone is supported with Android 4.0.4 i.e Ice cream Sandwich and runs on 1.2 GHz  A9 Dual Core processor. It does not have any camera in the back but got a VGA camera with 0.3 MegaPixel for video chat. It also supports a bluetooth service with bluetooth 2.1 for wireless connectivity and streaming.

It comes with 8 GB internal memory out of which only 5.95GB is pre-occupied with the operating system and application provided like Skype, Google maps, games (Ninja fruit, Temple run) and have only 2.05GB available for your use. But it is provided with a microSDHC slot that enables you to extend the memory upto 32GB. And has a 1GB RAM for seamless multitasking out of which 453MB is free for the use whereas 547MB is already used by the operating system and application.

This phone support multitasking and can support 5 point multi touch. As this phone is Google-certified it could allow a full access to Google Play, as well as Google apps, including Chrome, Gmail, Google Maps, Youtube and many more. This tablet got the simple interface that usually the Android phones and tablets looks like. It also provide HDMI(High-Definition Multimedia Interface) connectivity with which you can connects digital audio/video sources—such as HD TV provider boxes, Blue-ray Disc players, personal computers (PCs), video game consoles (such as the PlayStation 3 and some models of Xbox 360), and AV receivers


It got a low pixel density and one has to compromise on the display as it not so clear, but the overall display is comparatively good and as it also provide HDMI connectivity you can use this phone and improve the display quality by connecting the tablet with TV. This tablet is planned to be available for sale from Feb and can come with price tag of $149.00.
