A new Redmi smartphone with 48MP camera gets certified ahead of January 10 launch

Xiaomi has recently announced that it will launch a new Redmi smartphone with a 48MP rear camera on January 10. Now, the new smartphone gets certified by TENAA in China. The listing reveals the design and some specs of the new Redmi phone. It will come with a waterdrop notch display and a gradient back panel.

Earlier this week, Xiaomi announced that the Redmi would be a separate brand from now on. The company had already confirmed that it would launch a new Redmi smartphone with a 48-megapixel sensor. So, the same Redmi phone has now been spotted on TENAA certification site with model numbers M1901F7C, M1901F7T, and M1901F7E.

The TENAA listing images reveal that the new Redmi phone will come with a 6.3-inch display with a waterdrop notch. The images also show a dual rear camera setup and a fingerprint scanner on the back panel that has a pink and purple gradient.

One of the cameras will be a 48-megapixel sensor, however, there is no info available about the secondary camera. The smartphone will pack a 4,000mAh battery and will be powered by the Snapdragon 675 SoC. The dimensions will be 159.21×75.21×8.1mm.

Further, there is ‘Redmi by Xiaomi’ branding seen on the bottom of the back panel. There is still confusion about the exact name of the device. Some previous reports suggested that this smartphone would be called Redmi Pro 2. However, some reports are calling it Redmi 7. We will know the exact name, specs, and price details after the official launch on January 10.
