Acer Chromebook C910 and C740 Launched Aimed at Students

Taiwan based Acer has come up with a couple of new Chromebooks focused especially at students. The new offerings are dubbed Acer Chromebook C910 and Chromebook C740 and they are designed to withstand damage, pressure and accidental falls from a height of up to 18 inches. Besides being robust, the new Acer Chromebooks carry affordable price tags that make them easy to grab for students.

Acer Chromebook C910

Firstly, the Acer Chromebook C910 boasts of a 15.6 inch full HD display with a resolution of 1366×768 pixels and it is equipped with a fifth generation Intel Core i3-5005U processor or Intel Celeron 3205U processor paired with 4 GB of RAM. Also, the device is available in two variants based on internal storage capacity – 16 GB and 32 GB respectively.

Next on the list is Acer Chromebook C740 with an 11.6 inch HD display and Intel Core i3-5005U processor or Intel Celeron 3205U processor. This model of Chromebook features 16 GB native storage space and will come in two variants depending on its RAM capacity – 2 GB and 4 GB respectively.

The new Acer Chromebooks that are aimed to the students will be made available for sale in the US market starting from February 2015. As of now, there is no information on when these Chromebooks will be made available in the global markets. Acer has priced the Chromebook C910 starting from $299.99 (approx. Rs 18,500) and the Chromebook C740 from $259.99 (approx. Rs 16,000) respectively.

Also, schools can deploy and manage these new platforms cost-effectively, quickly and securely, so the emphasis stays on student success.”
