Acer Chromebooks, Predator Helios Gaming Laptops, and more announced

Acer has launched a new range of products at its next@acer global event in New York. The new product range includes notebooks, Chromebooks, gaming laptops, desktops, and other accessories for gamers, creators, students, and professionals. Most of these devices will go on sale next month.

Acer has announced a bunch of products among them several launches aimed at gamers including the Predator Helios gaming notebooks, Predator Orion Gaming Desktops, and Nitro 50 Desktops at its New York event. Apart from that, the company also introduced the Chromebook Spin 15, Chromebook 15, Chromebook 13 & Spin 13, and Swift 5 Notebook.

Acer Chromebook 15, Spin 15

Acer Chromebook Spin 15 is the industry’s first convertible Chromebook with a 15.6-inch 1080p display and comes with a convertible 360-degree design. The new Chromebook Spin 15 is said to deliver up to 13 hours battery life. It is powered by the quad-core Intel Pentium N4200 processor, Intel Celeron N3450 processor, or the dual-core Intel Celeron N3350 processor and comes with 4GB or 8GB RAM and either 32GB or 64GB of inbuilt eMMC storage. Connectivity options include 2×2 MIMO Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 4.2. There is a 720p HD webcam with HDR.

Acer has also introduced a new budget-friendly Chromebook 15 which comes with the same 15.6-inch display and a 14-hour battery life. The new Chromebook 15 comes in both touch (CB315-1HT) and non-touch (CB315-1H) variants. It is powered by the quad-core Intel Pentium N4200 processor, or dual-core Intel Celeron N3350 processor, or quad-core Intel Celeron N3450 processor with up to 8GB RAM and 64GB of inbuilt eMMC storage. It comes with WiFi 802.11ac 2×2 MIMO, two USB 3.1 Type-C ports, and two USB 3.0 ports.

Acer Chromebook 13, Spin 13

Acer has also announced the Chromebook Spin 13 and Chromebook 13. The laptops sport a 13-inch 3:2 display with an aluminum design and are powered by 8th Gen Intel Core processors. The convertible Chromebook Spin 13 has a 360-degree hinge that allows to use it as a tablet, notebook, or in tent-mode and comes with a Wacom stylus. It is powered by an 8th gen Intel Core i5-8250U processor or Core i3-8130U processor and packs up to 16GB memory and up to 128GB of inbuilt eMMC storage. It can offer a battery life of up to 10 hours.

Meanwhile, the Chromebook 13 comes with the traditional notebook design. It is powered by 8th gen Intel Core i3-8130U, Intel Pentium 4415U or Intel Celeron 3865U. It comes with up to 16GB memory and either 32GB or 64GB of inbuilt eMMC storage. Both the new Chromebooks also feature USB 3.0 port and a microSD card reader, Wi-Fi 802.11ac 2×2 MIMO and Bluetooth 4.2.

Acer Predator Helios 500/300

Acer Predator Helios features a 17.3-inches screen with either Full HD or 4K resolution and has 144Hz refresh rates for blur and tear-free gameplay. It is powered by the 8th Gen Intel Core i9+ processors, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 GPUs along with Intel Optane memory which increases responsiveness and load times. It has support for up to 64GB SSD.

Next, the Acer Predator Helios 300 sports a 15.6-inch FHD IPS display with a 144Hz refresh rate. It is powered by 8th Gen Intel Core i7+ processor, NVIDIA GTX 1060 GPUs, coupled with up to a 32GB DDR4 RAM, 512GB solid state drive, and up to 2TB hard disk drive. It also has Gigabit Ethernet that can provide fast wired connections and an Intel Wireless-AC 9560 that offers up to 1.73Gbps speed.

Acer Swift 5

The Acer Swift 5 sports a 15.6-inch FHD display with narrow bezels and 87.6% screen-to-body ratio. It is powered by the latest Intel processors and packs up to 1TB of SSD storage and up to 16 GB memory. Connectivity options include 1 USB Type-C Gen 2 port, two USB 3.1 Type-A ports, an HDMI port, and an SD card reader. It runs on Windows 10 with Cortana digital assistant. It also supports Windows Hello through a fingerprint reader for secure login.

Predator Orion 5000 and Predator Orion 3000

Lastly, the company has introduced Predator Orion 5000 and Orion 3000 gaming desktops. The Orion 500 is powered by the 8th Gen Intel Core i7+ processors paired with the latest Intel Z370 chipset, up to 32GB of memory, and NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 Ti GPUs. On the other hand, the Orion 500 is powered by 8th Gen Intel Core i7+ processors, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 GPUs and up to 32GB of Intel Optane memory, and up to 64GB DDR4-2666 RAM. It is also VR- ready and supports 4K gameplay.

Price and Availability

The Acer Chromebook Spin 15 will be available in North America at $449 and in EMEA at €449. Acer Chromebook 15 will be available in North America starting at $349, and in EMEA at €399. Notably, the prices and availability details of Chromebook 13 series have not been shared yet.

The Predator Helios 500 gaming notebooks will be available in North America starting at $1,999 (Rs. 1,36,641 approx.). The Predator Orion 5000 gaming desktops will be available in North America starting at $1,499 (Rs. 1,02,464 approx.) while Orion 3000 gaming desktop will be available in North America starting at $999 (Rs. 68,286 approx.).
