Airtel has announced a new offer today for the customers who are still using 2G/3G mobiles. These users will get 30GB of free data when they upgrade to a 4G smartphone. The prepaid customers upgrading to a 4G smartphone will get free 1GB data per day for 30 days. This free data will be provided over the internet pack which they are currently using.
The postpaid customers will get this 30GB free data in their first bill cycle over their current plan benefits. This initiative complements Airtel’s ‘Mera Pehla Smartphone’ campaign under which, Airtel is collaborating with phone manufacturers to create affordable 4G smartphones. This will bring 4G smartphones in the market at the price (virtually) of a feature phone.
Airtel has also partnered with some smartphone brands like Samsung, Intex, Karbonn, Lava, Celkon, Lenovo, Nokia, Lephone, Itel and Zen under this program. The 4G budget smartphone from these brands comes with cashback offers from Airtel bundled with the plans including data and unlimited calling.
The 2G and 3G customers can check their eligibility for this upgrade offer by calling to a toll-free number 5111 or in the My Airtel app. The 30 GB free data will be credited to the account within 24 hours of making the claim. Airtel users can also visit the official website to know more about the offer.
