Asus ROG Phone launched in India for Rs. 69,999: Features, specifications

Asus launched its first gaming smartphone ROG Phone in India today. The smartphone was first introduced globally by in June this year. The highlight of the gaming phone is that it is the world’s first smartphone with 3D vapor-chamber cooling system. It also has a carbon pad and copper spreader for more cooling.

The other noticeable features of the Asus ROG Phone include an AMOLED display with HDR support and 90Hz refresh rate and a special overclocked Snapdragon 845 processor clocked at up to 2.96GHz. The smartphone has gamer-centric design with ultrasonic Air Trigger touch sensors on the left edge and on the bottom right edge for both landscape and portrait modes. These can also be customized to perform different functions.

Asus ROG Phone Price in India

The Asus ROG Phone price in India is Rs. 69,999 for the only 8GB RAM/128GB storage variant. The phone will be available exclusively via Flipkart from today, November 29 itself. The company is offering 12 months no cost EMI options, Flipkart complete mobile protection plan at Rs. 999, and 4GB daily data and cashback worth Rs. 5400 for Jio.

The company also launched accessories with the phone. The Professional Dock will be available at Rs. 5,499, while Joystick costs Rs. 5,999. There is a TwinView Dock priced at Rs. 21,999 and Desktop Dock priced at Rs. 12,999. The ROG Phone case is priced at Rs. 2,499.


Asus ROG Phone Specifications

The Asus ROG Phone sports a 6-inch Full HD+ (2160 × 1080 pixels) 18:9 AMOLED panel with 90Hz refresh rate and 1ms response time, Gaming HDR and Mobile HDR. The display is protected with Corning Gorilla Glass 6. Under the hood, it is powered by Snapdragon 845 processor clocked at 2.96GHz. It packs 8GB LPDDR4x RAM and 128GB UFS 2.1 storage. The smartphone runs Android 8.1 Oreo with ROG Gaming X mode UI on top.

In terms of camera, it sports 12MP primary rear camera with dual pixel sensor, f/1.7 aperture, 1.4µm pixel size, LED flash, PDAF, 4-axis OIS, AI Scene Detection and a secondary rear camera with 120° wide-angle lens. There is an 8MP front camera with f/2.0 aperture and 84° field of view.

The Dual SIM phone has 4G VoLTE, WiFi 802.11ac dual-band (2×2 MU-MIMO ) / 802.11ad 60GHz, Bluetooth 5, GPS/GLONASS/Beidou, USB Type-C, and NFC as connectivity options. The side-mounted port supports Gigabit Ethernet with Type-C and HDMI. It packs a 4000mAh battery with 10V/3A fast charging support. It supports up to 30W charging that can charge from 0 to 60% in just 33 minutes.

The device sports a water-resistant body. There is a back-mounted fingerprint sensor. It also sports dual front-firing speakers with dual NXP 9874 smart amplifier, and Hi-Res audio. It also comes with virtual surround sound for headphone, and triple internal microphones with noise reduction technology. The dimensions of the phone are 158.83×76.16x 8.65mm and its weight is 200g.
