Asus is here with a new family member, Asus Zenfone Max (ZC550KL). Basically it’s the newer version of the Zenfone Max which was launched earlier this year but with few upgrades. The main highlight of this phone is its massive 5000mAh battery which can give up to 914 hours of standby and 37 hours of talk time on 3G .
Apart from this, it sports a 5.5inch IPS LCD display panel with HD resolution (720p) with pixel density of 330ppi. Under the hood it runs the Snapdragon octa-core 615 chipset clocked at 1.5 GHz (which is a major upgrade from the last one) coupled with 2GB of RAM and 32GB of internal memory which is expandable up to 64GB.
On the connectivity side it has all the basic connectivity options like 3G/4G LTE network support, dual sim support, Bluetooth v4.0, Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n, USB OTG. To capture your moments it has a 13 MP laser assisted, f/2.0 Autofocus rear camera with dual tone led flash and a 5MP front camera to take some great selfies.
The camera interface is also quite loaded with options like HDR mode, slow motion, time rewind, panorama selfies, beautification mode, photo effects etc. It runs on Android marshmallow 6.0.1 on top of ZenUI. It has a cool feature called reverse charging support which can make this phone to act as a powerbank and you can charge your phone through USB OTG of this phone.
It has texturized leather back which gives it a premium look. It also has all the necessary sensors like accelerometer, eCompass, proximity, hall sensor and ambient light sensor. Sadly it lacks a gyroscope sensor and its weight seems to be slightly on the higher side with 202 grams.
It is available in black, white, blue and orange color option for INR 9,999 as of now. It also has a 3GB ram variant priced at INR 12,999 which will be available later. It will be a direct competition to the new Redmi Note 3(16 GB variant) and Coolpad Note 3 Plus.
