Asus ZenFone Max M1 with Dual cameras and 18:9 display launched

After unveiling a freshly designed ZenFone lineup at the #MWC2018, Asus has added another budget offering to their range with the new Asus ZenFone Max M1. While this phone also sports vertically aligned rear cameras, it misses out on the notch in the display.

Coming after the ZenFone Max Plus that was introduced in Russia last month, the Asus ZenFone Max M1 comes in two variants which differ in terms of cameras, processor, as well as RAM and storage. Here are the complete details of the newly launched ZenFone Max M1.

To start with, this is a low-spec’d affordable smartphone from Asus. The Asus ZenFone Max M1 features a 5.7 inch HD+ (1440 x 720 pixels) display with 18:9 aspect ratio and 2.5D curved glass. The phone comes in two variants with different specifications.

The Asus ZenFone Max M1 comes in two camera configurations with a 13MP / 16MP primary lens and an 8MP wide angle lens dual rear cameras. The front camera also comes in 8MP / 13MP variants. So you can choose between the camera configuration depending on which model you go for.


In terms of hardware, the device offers 2 choices here you. One variant is backed by a quad-core Snapdragon 425 processor while the other is packing an octa-core Snapdragon 430 SoC. You can also choose between 2GB/16GB or 3GB/32GB RAM and ROM along with expandable storage via microSD card. The Asus ZenFone Max M1 runs on Android 8.0 Oreo with the ZenUI 5.0.

Powered by a big 4,000mAh battery, the Asus ZenFone Max M1 is a dual SIM 4G VoLTE smartphone with Bluetooth, WiFi, GPS, and a Micro USB port as some of the connectivity options.

The Asus ZenFone Max M1 will come in Deep Sea Black, Ruby Red, and Sunlight Gold colours. While the availability is not yet known, the base variant with 2GB RAM is up for pre-order in Russia at a price of 12,990 Ruble, which roughly translates to Rs. 15,000.
