BlackBerry has announced that it will introduce its new smartphone dubbed as BlackBerry KEY2 on June 7 at an event in New York. The new BlackBerry just like its predecessor comes with a display and QWERTY Keypad design. Other features include Snapdragon 660 SoC, 6GB RAM, and dual rear cameras.

The BlackBerry KEY2 is the successor to last year’s KEYone that was introduced at the MWC 2017 and launched in India later in August. This new BlackBerry KEY 2 will also have the same display and physical QWERTY keyboard, but most other specs will get an upgrade, such as the dual cameras, processor, but it will pack a 3,360mAh battery, which is slightly smaller than the 3,505mAh battery on the KEYone.

BlackBerry KEY2 Rumored Specifications

The new BlackBerry KEY 2 will sport a 4.5-inch (1620 x 1080 pixels) display with 433 PPI and 3:2 aspect ratio. It will come with a 4-row Physical QWERTY backlit keyboard with capacitive touch. The display will be scratch-resistant, dimensions of the phone are 151.4×71.8×8.5mm and its weight is 168g. It has a front-mounted Fingerprint sensor, integrated into the space bar on the keyboard.

The phone will be powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 660 processor with Adreno 512 GPU. Memory wise, it will pack 6GB RAM, 64GB internal storage, which is expandable up to 2TB with microSD. The phone will run on Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box.

Coming to the camera, the phone will come with a dual rear camera setup. It will pack a 12MP rear camera with dual-tone LED Flash, and a 5MP secondary rear camera. Up front, there will be an 8MP camera.

The dual-SIM phone will have 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac (2.4 & 5 GHz), Bluetooth 4.2, GPS / GLONASS, NFC, USB 3.1 Type-C as connectivity options. It will also sport a 3.5mm audio jack and FM Radio. The BlackBerry KEY2 will be powered by a 33,60mAh battery with Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 fast charging support.

We should know about the pricing of BlackBerry KEY2 when the phone goes official next month on June 7. There is no information when it will come to India.
