Cagabi One: Allegedly World’s Cheapest Smartphone Launching Soon

Cagabi, a Chinese company, has just come up with a smartphone which they are claiming to be the cheapest in the world. With a price tag promised to be under $40 or Rs. 2665 (approx.), the Cagabi One does come with some well-thought-of internals.

Last year in India, there have been a couple of smartphones with unrealistically low prices. Ringing Bell’s Freedom 251 is certainly the most prominent of them. However, it turned out to be fraud or failure due to its impractical cost, which didn’t even cover the price of its components. The pricing of Cagabi One is much safer and may be sustainable considering the smartphone is going to be sold from China itself. The good news is that the handset is also going to be made available for international buyers.

Cagabi One Specifications

Coming to specs, the Cagabi One will not disappoint you. It sports a 5-inch HD (1280 x 720) IPS LCD panel. The display also boasts a 2.5D curvature and Gorilla Glass protection. Externally, the smartphone appears to be quite sleek and rocks a brushed metal finished rear.

Internally, there are two variants of the Cagabi One. The low power version comes with the 32-bit quad-core MediaTek MT6580 SoC. This sports four Cortex A7 cores clocked at 1.3 GHz each. This model is going to have 1 GB of RAM and 8 GB of ROM. The upgraded model sports the 64-bit quad-core MT6737 chip with four Cortex A53 cores running at 1.3 GHz each. This top variant also has 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of onboard storage.

Speaking of the software, the Cagabi One runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow. Camera-wise, the smartphone has an 8 MP rear shooter and 5 MP selfies unit. LED flashes assist both the front and the back cameras. A 2200mAh battery juices up the device.

Regarding connectivity, only the higher variant with MT6737 supports 4G LTE, while the 1 GB model is restricted to 3G only. Both the versions have Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, 3.5 mm audio jack, micro USB port, etc. Although the company has announced that the Cagabi One is going to launch soon, we are still awaited the exact release date and pricing.
