On Thursday, Lenovo announced the affordable A6000 smartphone at the CES 2015 tech show in Las Vegas. The Lenovo A6000 carries a price tag of $169 and it is the highly anticipated 4G smartphone that features decent specifications for its pricing.

Well, the Lenovo A6000 is bestowed with a 5 inch HD IPS display that carries a screen resolution of 1280×720 pixels resulting in a pixel density of 294 pixels per inch. Under its hood, the smartphone makes use of a 64 bit 1.2 GHz quad core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor that is backed by Adreno 306 graphics unit and 1 GB of RAM respectively. For storage, the Lenovo offering uses 8 GB of native storage capacity that can be extended externally using a micro SD card.

The imaging department of the Lenovo A6000 comprises of an 8 MP main camera at the back with auto focus and LED flash. Also, there is a 2 MP front facer that can take charge of video conferencing and clicking selfies. Connectivity aspects onboard include 4G LTE, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS and dual SIM functionality.

A 2,300 mAh battery powers the A6000 from within and this can render up to 13 hours of talk time and up to 264 hours of standby time to the smartphone respectively. Notably, the Lenovo A6000 based on Android 4.4 KitKat operating system is topped with Vibe UI 2.0 skin.

When it comes to availability, the $169 priced smartphone is confirmed to hit the Indian market via Flipkart, Lenovo’s exclusive online retailer. Earlier, the e-commerce portal giant announced that the 4G Lenovo smartphone will be affordably priced in sub Rs 10,000 price backet and hence, we need to wait for the final announcement of its pricing in the country. However, it is known that the Lenovo A6000 will be a tough challenger to the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4G and Micromax Yureka that also support 4G and are priced in the same range.
